Re: Josh aka greaslifes 86
I was thinking the diff cover flange out of 3/8" steel with a milled down section for this plate to bolt on top of. Still would be tough to get on but would work well.
Problem is I'm pretty sure it's not in Josh's budget at this time.

Oh like a riser for the whole cover?
On that note I suppose you could recess a few bolt holes on the diff it self, and make the gusset with ears what would seal between the cast iron and cover?

Re: Josh aka greaslifes 86
Not necessarily a riser for the whole cover, but something like this, but with a section pocketed in the ring for the plate connecting to the gusset.
http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/88DCOV.html
So the plate from the gusset would sit against the gasket mating surface on the center section (most likely be welded to it), and then the cover would sit over that & "sandwich" it sort of.
Might be a slight pain to seal the cover that way though.
I guess you could also pocket the center section itself & weld the plat in, then grind the surface flat/true again as well.
These options seem like a lot of effort though.

Not trying to be a butt head but I would just notch a little more off the tube so it rest against the center section do a couple plates on the tube section

That would work great too. There's nothing in that webbing section, mind as well use it.

That'd work! Just drill and tap the gusset and weld in tabs off the truss.

Back under the truck got to say thanks to Randy for helping me out it was a long day. If I have it in me tomorrow I'll throw on another set of shocks on the front and go from there.
