If you get a bronco and do a lt setup it will cost u more mixing parts companies. Take your time and find who will work for you. Look at my build thread. I went through fab coil buckets different radius arms and finally went c/o with c/t beams and radius arms. Southwest performance did the c/o buckets and ss fab out of oregon did the beams and radius arms. I shouldve done that first.
I'm just here for the views. It helps me feel wanted.

I did something similar which cost me time and money. I too ended up going down the road with Mark at Southwest Performance with ideal results. You have quite a few decent options. If only I had found Mark before burning several thousand dollars first. Either find a bronco that's been done the right way, or find something fairly stock and do it the right way. I'd stay away from abuse or "upgrades" that you don't like or want to change.

ditch it!! I think the expo is cool and all but I would be more for a bronco IMO.
Wich year do you like best? Its all personal preferance really.
The obd2 computer lets tune so if you are planning on going fast and want to change shift points it would be a plus.
Buy one some old lady used to have in her garage.

I'm more of a 1992 - 1996 bronco style guy, but to narrow that down I think I'll go for the 1996 because of the OBDII optionBRONCONUT wrote: Wich year do you like best? Its all personal preferance really.

You would be amazed at the Broncos here in Phoenix. A few months back I found a 1995!'mint condition full power everything worked just absolutely beautiful for $2700.00 OBO. That was in Sun Sity where all the old people live and drive golf carts on the street (no kidding) I kick myself everyday I didn't drive out there and grab it. When I get my bronco I expect your guys help. I like that Threat Motorsports stuff.

Re: SHOULD I CONTINUE WITH MY EXPEDITION OR BUILD A GFB?
It seems like very recently we had a thread debating which bronco model year was the most desired for a build up. Anyone able to link it? I believe there were many that liked the '95 for part availability more and others that preferred the '96. As long as you know the differences in mechanics between the two, should be able to make a solid selection.

Re: SHOULD I CONTINUE WITH MY EXPEDITION OR BUILD A GFB?
Why would the 1995 have more parts availability? Do they have more options or are they considered the most reliable? I'm still pushing for the 1996 with OBDII. It looks like SCT Has a tuner that would work on both my 1999 Expedition & a 1996 Bronco. Here is the link: http://www.sctflash.com/products.php?PID=65&VID=82
Now the quest begins to find a Bronco. Believe me this will be a long project
1. C&T beams
2. Extended radius arms
3. National leaf pack or a 4-Link rear end. I know a master fabricator that do the 4-Link but the Nationals seems like the most economical
4. desert fun
5. Oh yeah shocks

Re: SHOULD I CONTINUE WITH MY EXPEDITION OR BUILD A GFB?
Because 1996 was the last year for the bronco and the first year for OBDII. You have a vehicle that has parts specific to one production year only. Aftermarket and reproduction parts make less sense financially for a company when their market is specific to only one year of a vehicle.rewarder wrote:Why would the 1995 have more parts availability? I liked 92-96 for the body/interior. I then chose 94+ due to factory R134 AC and ease of repairing that. I found a clean 1995 california (MAF) for $2800 and snagged it up. It has been great to me.

Re: SHOULD I CONTINUE WITH MY EXPEDITION OR BUILD A GFB?
Sounds like a 1992 - 1995 is my best option, and believe me there are plenty to choose from here in Phoenix. Although, if a clean 1996 pops up at a great price I'm grabbing that bad girl. I'll get a stock truck that has been well taken care of. I just went thru some paperwork and found my old title to my 1996 Eddie Bauer. I want that truck back. So am I on the right track guys?

Is a 1995 MAF the ideal set-up for vehicles that need to go thru emissions? Phoenix is starting to step up our Emission Laws. I can tell you this, my GFB is going to be fast & LOUD!!!! This is going to be an exciting project.Silverslk wrote:I liked 92-96 for the body/interior. I then chose 94+ due to factory R134 AC and ease of repairing that.
