I too was in the area and on a good note got to see the mighty 990 car hauling the mail down the wash and up the hill. It was an encouraging sight to a friend that just picked a baja bug that will be a 5 /16 car. he didnt think volkswagens would hold up in Barstow. after seeing the 990 he has octane running thru his veins and is eager than ever to get the project started.

On a down note We too were out doing some pre running of the course on saturday and there were alot of bikes and rhinos everywhere, I too had a close call on saturday night with a man in a sandrail @ 10:00 on powerline, no lights just a flashlight, thank god for 400w of light on the front of the bronco.

Keeping things calm is everything, We were at Slash x ranch when the 10 car and the rhino had the accedent. It was about a minute before someone on the scene called a friend who was at the ranch and that person tells another and so on. half the people left to go spectate, If you dont have or feel comfortable being a first responder thats ok, work on keeping the croud away and the scene safe so that the responders can render aid, Please stay safe out there. Thank you to the 990 team for ther courageous efforts.

QUick Update to the race...I just found out that the 4454 Ultra-4 will be racing class1 and pitting with us so our pits will look a bit bigger...They are bringing out the BIG moterhome. Cant wait!!! Matt and I will be heading out Friday!

Matt passed that along Tony glad it worked out, right now I have you as chase....Justin/Christine (from Tut tech) in main with me, with Randy and Matt B as maybes. Woods racing will be working MM 26 road crossing and Tut tech at 11 The woods folks for sure will have few parts.
The game plan is one planned stop for fuel and possibly driver change at start of Lap 4. Other than that lets hope for a clean run.

Tony I also have some time sheets I made up to help me track position better if you want I will give you a copy as well. Looking forward to seeing you out there. Also can you bring those beam bolts since I forgot them the other day lol.
We should be set up on the left side again I will; be headed out friday I will send you the gps once we are out there.

Thanks chris....Very short story full report to follow tomorrow but the 990 had a rough day and we finished 5th out of 13 not bad but nor what we wanted. Thanks again to Tony, Randy, and Jason and christine. Great day all in all lok for the report tomorrow!
