Hey Rod , heres some snapshots of Dad's old lee. He bought it from a neighbour who was "too stupid to have a gun" about 40 years ago.
If anyone can tell me anything about it , feel free.
It is my understanding since an 80%, if built by you, is a hand made firearm, and there fore unregistered you can do whatever you want, pistol or long gun.... HOWEVER, once you try to officially sell it, it would need to be dros'd, serialed and registered, and then follow all the rules...Wrightracing.net wrote: My question is, on a normal stripped ar lower it is limited to a minimum of 16" for the barrel length due to its markings and destinations on the lower receiver. So I was wondering if a home built 80% ar rim fire is bound by those same rules and can I put a 11.5" barrel on the gun? If it is still under that rule I think I can still put the 11.5" on but I would have to put a 5.5" commando syle flash suppressor and weld it in place to make it to the original rules of 16".
I know that if an Ar with an SBR designation has a short barrel, it can not have a stock because it falls under handgun rules.
So again, would a 80% ar with a short barrel and no SBR markings be subject to the no stock rule?
So stupid, some gun laws make no sense. All of these configurations are still just a semi automatic gun that all fire the same round. Next they will outlaw a black single shot 410 shotgun because it is black and we all know assault wepons and machine guns are black so they will outlaw all black guns.
Couple things to add...robertcrav wrote:It is my understanding since an 80%, if built by you, is a hand made firearm, and there fore unregistered you can do whatever you want, pistol or long gun....
