Re: Suggestions, drop bracket or C&T?
They will go in no problem I'd say. Your truck will sit cambered out with them in most likely.
Look at the coilbuckets before you talk about moving them. A bit more to it than you'd think. Including removing a BUNCH of pain in the butt rivets.

Re: Suggestions, drop bracket or C&T?
I know there's quite a bit too it, it's all about geometry and trial and error. I'm just trying to get a basic idea and understanding. I mainly just wanted to make sure the drop bracket would be fine and would allow me to be able to fit the deavers with some mods

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Front Suspension
Only way to tell is remove the existing 4 inch lift spring and do a side by side unsprung length comparison. It's very hard to say anything without knowing your starting point. If you remove the coil buckets you might as well put coil overs on it so its all fully adjustable ride height wise. Making an upper coil over mount may take less time than modifying your stock coil bucket or making one from scratch. It's kinda how much is your time worth kinda deals. I still say compare side by side before jumping into major surgery head long. Just my 2 cents though.

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Front Suspension
I'm thinking my coils are about 19-20in unsprung, I am not sure though so I will have to check that but just making an estimate. The deavers are 22" unsprung. If in fact my coils are around 19-21" anywhere in that ballpark, would it hurt my alignment or throw anything off because of the extra 1-3" on the deavers? Or would it be fairly adjustable?

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Front Suspension
3 inches maybe, 1 inch probably not, it all depends on what point the alignment cam is at currently, if its at the smallest increment of camber correction with the top of the knuckle pulled inboard the least amount you may have the remaining adjustment needed to get a close to zero degree camber angle at ride height. It's one of those things, you could trig it out but at the end of the day a math problem won't cure a real world problem due to the most important variable: spring rate comparison. It could be a bit softer than what you have in which case unsprung length is irrelevant. The additional 3 inches in length approximation may not exsist at all after the trucks weight is applied. You gotta put em in bro no other way around it. It's not the end of the world if your camber isn't exact not on a beam set up anyway. I rock negative 10 degrees all day. Positive is another matter but it will still be drivable it will just look odd.

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Front Suspension
that much camber looks odd & wears tires odd.
BUT, I do agree the only way to tell for sure is to try it.
If you want to be extra special safe before you spend any $ you could always pull your coils & see what they are in free length. Spring rate might now be dead on, but my guess is they will be at least somewhat close.

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Front Suspension
Ok So the dana 50 and 44 ttb Frankenstein has begun, and mostly wondering if there are any axles i ca use off the shelf or out of junkyard that are longer and have them cut and resplined to my desired length. I remember hearing of people using the long side axle of a dana 44 and having them cut down, but havent seen anything about anyone using dana 50 or 60 shafts. i have them extended right now and everything clears perfectly, But i do plan on wheeling this thing with 37s, and dont want to run sleeved shafts if i dont absolutely have to.

are the 50 shafts the same as a 60? or 50? idk 100% and havent had time to look it up to extensively

Some light reading that may answer your ? about 50 & 60 axles being the same. I think it's in there but can't remember for sure and don't have time to re-check.

Here's some info that might help you out drew.
D44 to D50 hub swap info:
D44 steering knuckle u joint 1310,5-270x, 5-297x all are the same size.
D50 steering knuckle u joint 1350
Conclusion 1310 to 1350 adapter u joint.

This will allow you to run d50 knuckle out, and d44 custom axels according to your length of beam extension. Basically everything d44 to the knuckle u joint and d50 there on.

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Front Suspension
Yeah that's my fall back, part of the reason for running Dana 50 was the 1350s all round. I'm going to try to get some made but mostly was trying to find something stock I could have shortened (cheaper) but I don't think have a set made will be too bad. We shall see?

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Front Suspension
If you run all d44 it's about 400$ or so for custom axels from Dutchman I believe.

====
Choose your axle . Wrong length?
To short get 2 axles and cut & splice.
To long the cut the long one to length and splice.
Been discussed several times . The resulting spliced axle will be stronger than not spliced.
If you can weld and measure its a simple thing to do. No new splines no new custom axles.

Paul, they do sell more inexpensive axels with like 1ft long splined section ( rolled spline so it's supposedly cheaper then case hardened? Or induction I can't remember) and you just cut them down to length. I can't remember who was selling them.

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Front Suspension
So i am posing this here hoping to get a quick reply, i have done a search but havent found the correct info. i need the mounting width of the beams ends. i am getting ready to order my unibal cups and misalignment spacers and i need the mounting width so i can order correct misalignment spacer. looking at the spacers, it appears the standard width for a 1" unibal with spacers is 2.625. is that all i need . I meant to measure when i was at shop saturday but totally forgot, i need to order these today so i can have them this week. any help is greatly appreciated

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Front Suspension
I'm guessing your referring to the beam pivot width? Mine don't use mis spacers, instead a 1 inch uniball with what look identical to weld washers to reduce the bolt size.

I had to machine customer spacers to work... width on the factory brackets is less than 2".

Scott at Camburg offers them alreay machined to fit if you want to save the time and hassle. Also, Baja Scott on here has talked about offering this but haven't seen/heard anything recently.
