Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
gave the rear a look...
4L10.
looks like it is a 4.10 limitied splip.
Maybe that is good enough? Anyone have any experience with jumping from 4.10s to 4.56s or higher with 35's?

Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
I figured probably that, but could be a 5 speed.
If it is an AODE then put a BIG cooler on that sucker ASAP. And, the 4.56's probably will be good since you have an OD with the AOD. If you had a 3 speed like the c6 I'd say 4.56 MIGHT be slightly short for the street for some.

I was thinking AOD. It has a stock cooler installed...

If you plan to do anything with the truck add a bigger cooler. Trust me.
Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
will do. especially out here in the imperial valley!!
Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
Rear shocks arrived. After mounting them and replacing the tie rods I'm out to superstition for a test.

Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
So I had a really bad day today. Hottest day so far, about 118 average all day. Worst thing I had my kid with me when my bronco died in the middle of the street at about one o' clock. Waited for help to come pull me out of the center of the road. Below is a picture of what happened. This is sort of my fault, previous owner use amplifier cable to hook up the battery to the starter solenoid. Ground and power cables melted together, burnt the terminal apart, melted it into the battery, and burnt the starter. In the last picture you can see how the terminal melted into the battery. Trying to fix all this with such high temps, man was that tiring.

That's awful. I feel for you man. I've broken down all over the coachella valley back in the day when I had my vw bug. Summer is rough on any car as well as a person when they gotta fix a car. Nothing worse than burning yourself on absolutely everything you touch even after the cars been off for hours. Sry to hear about your bad luck.
Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
Started on pulling the engine last night. It had a knock on one side and a very bad leak. Keeping it stock, just adding a set of headers (thanks rmc. Everythings going smooth so far, all connectors an hoses are in good shape considering its age. Here's some shots of the progress. We were only there for about two hours but I am happy.

Just making sure those headers made it to you ok. How's progress?
Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
yes I got them Thursday. I thought I let you know. They will not be going in yet as the others were already on. Should be back on the road today.

Ok cool
Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
been driving it as my daily, trying to put some miles on it to see if anything comes up. So far I've had to replace the power steering pump, radiator, and water temp sensor.
did a coil swap yesterday from the 6" to a 4". Looks way better now, no more Bro look.
before shot

Looking good!
Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
The a/c has been taking too long to cool down so I am adding an electric fan to help the condenser some. The fan is off a 98 Taurus. Not very far into it, just some test fitting and grill trimming done so far.

Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
I'm curious how well this works. I have the same issue. My AC doesn't exactly take a "long" time to cool down but it does take longer than I think it should.
Re: Ocejo's 89 budget Bronco
I live in the Imperial Valley so anything that can be done to aid the system will help. Hopefully I can get more progress on it tonight.

Is your fan clutch engaging? Dumb question but 90% of the time people forget. I accidentally bought a fan clutch that was made for a non ac motor and itd get warm at every stop light.
