Nope. No reason. Lots of TTB/TIB trucks are built this way.

I did this on Big Bertha when it had drop brackets so I didn't have to have a drop pitman arm. After reaming the opposite side of the spindle there is not enough material for a taper to work correctly. I had to tighten the outer tie rod constantly and ended up destroying the stock spindles.
