Those work really well on trucks with heavy loads but I have no idea how well they would work in our application. They are not cheap either.

Back from the dead. Anyone going to hit a junk yard soon or have any of these lying around? Depending on the overall height I may be interested in the Pathfinder (shaped like an 8) ones, but most likely I'd be looking at the S10/blazer ones that fit in the "cup".

I run the Nissan bumps on the rear of Patch. Thanks Chris for the suggestion years ago. I'm about to install a set on the front as Patch does have the room though the height is a bit of a concern. No, Patch is not a Bronco.

I rode in a dodge with these bumps on the front end and was very impressed. For lack of a better term it felt like the truck was "gellin". It just seemed to squish a bit but offered no sensation of bottoming. And this was while hammering the truck in Barstow for some Bilstein 60mm ACV development.

You have to be real careful with how you use those. If there is any side to side movement on contact it will rip the bump off the base. They do not take side impacts or rubbing well.

I have passed up this thread for a while now and after some testing this last weekend I am forced to take another look. I have a shiny spot on both beams and the stock bumps mounted on the riser blocks are hurting. I think I might go with the red ones in the post above.

Absolute and complete n00b to anything involving off-roading and going fast together, I've always had one or the other, I build on a ridiculously cheap budget. With that being said, I understand the concept of a bumpstop, but I would like to know what are the general steps to swapping Pathfinder bumpstops (Or other JY vehicle models you guys like?) and would they benefit my stock suspension Bronco at all? Thanks in advance!

That is a good question, Do you plan on it staying stock? Honestly the front end on a bronco works Great, its the rear that needs help, Its heavy and it Bucks just like a bronco.

The rear needs more up travel to help with the bucking. Very hard to do with stock heights.

Stock to a point, but not extreme by any means. I won't be flinging this into huge dunes, or at least for awhile. Once I do get started onto the suspension side of things I wanted to do the rear as my priority... But I won't be doing coilovers or anything like that, out of my budget. But I raid my local yards often, so if I learn of stock items on other vehicles that could benefit me I'm all ears to learn more. Do you suggest I even bother with the bumpstops? Cause I could get it for near free.

the longer the Bumpstop the shorter the up travel. If I were to change mine it would be to a pathfinder style. Find yourself a 4'' rancho kit with the long arms and get some deaver springs for the rear and it will be 100% better than stock.

Finally, I found a yard that had 2 isuzu's and 2 s-10/blazers. I grabbed the rodeo bumps but couldn't figure out how to get the blazer ones out without ripping out the rubber. If i take the rubber out to get to the bolt will it go back in and whats the best way to get it out without ruining them? Thanks.

They just pop out of the cup. Grab ahold and wiggle from side to side and the bump will pop out.
