For anyone headed out we are located .4 miles directly into the stoddard valley ohv look for the red ranger or the F350 with the camper. Matt says the weather is pretty reasonable for July! Hope to see you there.

Re: MORE Night Race July 21st
I talked with Matt earlier in the week. Me and my neighbor will be out. Bringing his civic.... NOT the Bronco. I'll plan on helping in Main. My neighbor too but I will want him to go chase with Tony a bit too. Its all new to him but he's mechanical.

Re: MORE Night Race July 21st
I just wanted to again Thank everyone for the support out there last night. It is a shame that the oil pump let go on the car...On a plus side it was great seeing everyone again and getting a few minutes to BS. The team greatly appreciates everything you all do!

MORE Night Race July 21st
Just saw this on DR... Sad didn't hear about this last night....
From RDC...
R.I.P. Ron Bechard
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I report the passing of a great Father,Husband,Son, Friend,Employee and Off Roader .
Shortly after the start of of the Freedom 250 the pits lost radio communications with Ron after he reported being his hands were going numb and he was lost in the sand wash. Many hours later he was found dead while still completly strapped in his racecar well east of Hwy 247. The car was completly intact and showed no signs of damage. It appeared he had driven most of the distance cross country.
Cause of death in unknown at pending an Autopsy.
Ron was the ultimate family man , he literally lived ,breathed and died following his passions. Being with his family and off roading.
God Speed my good friend !
Our thought and prayers are with his wife Hollyand his beloved kids Dalton and Skyler.

Damn that is rough to hear. Gabe and I were monitoring the relay all afternoon and they kept talking about not knowing where he was ...... Thoughts and prayers.

Re: MORE Night Race July 21st
The Kaveman team knows the Bechards as well and it is very sad to hear my dad relayed the news to me this morning. I have met holly and ron several times and they are a wonderful family. We could not be more stunned and saddened to hear the news.
Our prayers go out to all the family and friends involved.

Re: MORE Night Race July 21st
Truly sad news and hope that the family can find peace soon, knowing he died doing something he lived for! Sadly wondering if being lost in the dark, didn't stress him out a bunch and contribute?
Hope the oil pump fail didn't take the engine with it?

Thankfully we are running BG additives in the motor and believe that the motor was caught in time...we will know more in a week or two when Gary opens everything up....Broncodawg wrote:Truly sad news and hope that the family can find peace soon, knowing he died doing something he lived for! It is sad for sure but there is definately something to be said for doing what you love. I dont believe darkness was an intial factor since the reports to the pit when he went missing were literally minutes after start he had almost 2 full hours of daylight left. I think that whatever condition struck him just degraded him that badly.

Thank you to everyone that supported us! This is truley an awesome team and unfortunatley we had a stroke of bad luck out there but we were sure wicked fast till we broke! lol
We attended the services for Ron Bechard last Sunday and it was a great service to celebrate Ron's life. I passed along condolences from everyone at Kaveman Motorsports.
