That house is in Dana Point where I grew up. I dig it down there for sure.

CdM is nice too, but up here you get to deal with more of the "Newport" types.

Thats where I was guessing it was....I dont miss the people in those areas or the crowded life....In the summers I like to sneak out of the office and fish the surf on the way home. I can hit up carlsbad pretty easily. I am excited though my kids are starting to really enjoy the beach so I am able to get there more often. If we leave CA after the navy the two things I will miss outside of the weather are the beach and the desert haha

Weather & surf (not just the beach as those are all over the place but often not surfable) are pretty much what I'd miss. There are lots of places I'd love to go to get away from the mentality & crowds, but my family and livelyhood are here. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to afford to live in many of the other places I'd like to move as my profession doesn't do much there.

I hear you....I need to figure out what i am going to be when I grow up hahaha...That is one nice thing about making the jump back to civilian life after this I can shape my next carreer a bit. I have a very small family just my parents and brother and that may play into where we end up in a few years.

I remember walking to Stands down the small single track trail at the end of the old parking lot down the hillside next to the old mobile home park. Funny how they fenced in and closed the trail, since it was considered a sensitive habitat area and then years later be able to develop/grade the whole hillside. It's a big joke now with tourists and non-locals.

Grif - that place was in litigation for YEARS! My aunt & uncle got married at that trailer park (whoa - that sounds bad out of context!) and as I said I grew up surfing down there. By the time I was old enough to remember the trailer park was gone, only 1 trailer remained and the place was locked off.

What's funny is I never wanted that to be developed and was always against it. Now working on those houses pays my bills. I guess I "sold out" a bit huh????

i grew up surfing Solamar stat beach and man that place went too crap. all the local gang bangers started going there to party along with all the motor homes taking all the parking. ventura county decided that they could make a killing on people parked and opened it up too camping. so when you go trough ventura on your way to pismo you will see a sea of motor homes all that beach has the best point and ref brakes in central ca. now all gone too crap

chase ..... not a sale out just adapting too the times we live in .wish i could leave this state but all the times i have i came back.

Love the fairgrounds area & that part of ventura for waves. Haven't surfed there a bunch but always want to when I drive by.

They got me twice in one year. One is considered change of ownership smog and the other is just regular smog. Its for my CJ7 which I've owned for less than a year.

Does Seafoam really work?

Do we really need to be GoFastBroncos.. Why can't it sometimes be GoSlowBlazers?

Sorry to any and all Blazer owners... I don't know any better since I'm doing it wrong.. Plus I have Jeep CJ-Slow and once owned a GTI w/ the 2.Slow.
