Just found this site. You guys have built some real nice broncos. Great thread. I am undecided what to do with mine so I am researching a lot of builds.

Have been messing around with the Bronco today.... dug it out from behind all the other cars, weighed it, rinsed the dirt off, started polishing the wheels and painting the front clip with rattle can.

Surprised me how much it weighs, with me (210 lb or so), full tank of gas (33 gallons), and some junk in the back it weighed in at 4820. 2" tubing here we come....

That's about what I figured they weighed with our extras in them. It's interesting that my old Explorer that I was going to convert to 4wd with full size stuff weight around 4550 lbs. That was with me in it, with a 4wd trans and transfer case (I had already started the conversion) but it still had a 2wd front end. After adding a front diff and dive shaft, it would have been within a couple hundred pounds of your Bronco.

I would totally do my own version of a DD link setup but honestly these stupid leaf springs I have work fucking awesome. Only draw back is there are super soft and I have to run light cargo wise and load everything behind the front seats.
