Wilwood Brakes
upgrading some things on my 9", including going from explorer brakes to 12" wilwoods, what is everyone doing for proportioning valves and dialing in the rear brakes on broncos/f-150s?

Re: Wilwood Brakes
Not a bronco but I put one of the wilwood tunable (turn it with a know to adjust the bias) on the crew. I plumbed it under the dash (along with a line lock separating front and rear in case I ever broke a line) so I could adjust if needed between having a full load/bed or having no weight in the bed.
I'm pretty sure Brian used the same adjustable valve on the yeti but had his under the hood up by the booster.

Re: Wilwood Brakes
good looking out, ive got everything installed at this point except for that so id like to pick his brain on where to put it in the system, what you did is a cool idea but overkill for my application, totally makes sense in yoursChaseTruck754 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 11:45 amNot a bronco but I put one of the wilwood tunable (turn it with a know to adjust the bias) on the crew. Re: Wilwood Brakes
I got a tip from Andy Jones to use the Expedition master cylinder as it is a larger bore and is proportioned for rear disc brakes, it is a direct bolt on. It was a simple swap and works awesome.

Awesome! I actually installed one yesterday, haven’t had a chance to test yet, did you do the booster too?LHCAZ95 wrote:I got a tip from Andy Jones to use the Expedition master cylinder as it is a larger bore and is proportioned for rear disc brakes, it is a direct bolt on. Looks good! I wonder how the explorer master and an f350 booster would do?

Re: Wilwood Brakes
Alright so the final consensus now that the brakes are broken in, truck stops great, uses expedition master and residual valve, factory bronco/OBS booster gonna order the wilwood e brake kit and try to make that work next

Re: Wilwood Brakes
No sir they are not, and the brake booster has 2 diaphrams. I have a 97 460 f350. The booster isnt much bigger than the bronco booster.

Re: Wilwood Brakes
So you think it would still clear an engine cage/shock towers easily?

If I can remember to grab a measurement i can tell you no problem. My truck is in the garage, and i believe i have a spare (core) 350 booster on one of my shelves.....
