I was told that the SuperWinch locking hubs that my '96 came with were desirable in this community. I can see why, they're easy to operate and don't stick out very far. Both are traits the Warn hubs lack. That they're also strong I'll have to wait and see. So far they've done everything that I've asked of them.
Anyway, at the start of my big brake conversion I couldn't get one of them loose. One of the 6 screws was seized and would NOT come loose. I had to cut the body to get the hub off. I immediately started looking for a replacement set. Westin bought SuperWinch and discontinued the whole locking hubs line, so they're not easy to find and it took a while. I am aware that "AVM" (whomever they are) also is claimed to sell the same locking hub, but I have never found anyone with actual inventory of that brand name. I've looked for either brand of locking hub, on and off, ever since and haven't seen any.
Until a couple of days ago. These that Tom's Bronco Parts is selling appear to be the same locking hub: https://tomsoffroad.com/parts/66-79-for ... king-hubs/ At the time of this post they are $135/set, which I think is a deal!

Cross-threaded is tighter than Lock-Tite.
