So there's a new RC track in SLO. They were supposed to have an open track day today but it got rained out. Maybe next Saturday.

Man, I spent about 4 hours today (way more than I anticipated) rebuilding the shocks, repairing a couple broken parts, replacing some bearings... basically a good prep of my SC10. It's amazing how much better these things handle when you maintain them. I'd planned to put some RPM pistons in the shocks that only have "valving' on compression but they didn't fit the SC10 shafts. I don't know if they would have worked well but I liked the theory... a fixed piston for compression with a secondary upper piston that acted as a check valve on compression then opened up on rebound for more flow. Kind a of a rebound bypass. I'll have to do some digging around to see what other options there are.

It's crazy how much you can get wrapped up in these litte money pits...not to mention the tech that have in them now....you should check IERC if you haven't already...it's crazy, pro rc drivers with pits set up like something you would see at LOORS

I'm good with the money. I spent about $15 at the hobby shop on Sunday and got my truck back to [close to] tip-top shape... can't do anything for the Bronco for $15! Even with the 4 hours of work, the play time to prep time ratio is still far, far from the point where I get tired of working on something.

We got finished up at work a few minutes early and had some daylight left so I took the car out and played around in the parking lot and driveway... man is it nice to have good shocks again. The car was getting so sloppy it wasn't really fun anymore. It works GREAT again... looking forward to taking it out again!
