Re: The Gun Thread
An old friend and his girlfriend came over this morning for breakfast... whipped up some Carne Con Chile omlets, he brought over a couple .22 rifles and Matea shot a real gun for the first time and loved it. Family, friends, food and firearms. It doesn't get much better!

That's a big un! The only rabbits I've seen around here have been less than 1/4 the size of that one... and in our cat's mouth.

Re: The Gun Thread
I am waiting for people to realize they have bills to pay next month... Then I will buy all their guns and accessories for cheap.
Speaking of that, feel unsafe with a gun in your house? Bring it to me for a $50 or $100 gift card to your favorite store.

That would be nice! Even the cheap stuff is expensive right now. I went to look for a cheap .22 rifle today and my local store was cleaned out.philofab wrote:I am waiting for people to realize they have bills to pay next month... Then I will buy all their guns and accessories for cheap.
I'd love go hold a sign at a gun buyback... "I pay MORE and CASH for your guns."philofab wrote:Speaking of that, feel unsafe with a gun in your house? Bring it to me for a $50 or $100 gift card to your favorite store.

Re: The Gun Thread
This should be an indicator as to what is being crafted by our legislators
http://senatedems.ct.gov/pr/bye-121220. ... um=twitter
It's time to fill the email boxes of your elected officials and let them know your position. If you think the availability and price gouges on AR stuff is crazy wait and see the 50% tax on ammo and magazines as proposed......

Re: The Gun Thread
I love it. Criminal shooter who pays taxes and decides stockpiling ammo would be too big a deterrent cause he has a trip to the islands planned for June
Ok.
I've had quite a bit of firsthand exposure to people who shoot people, I have yet to encounter one who these laws would deter or effect other than regular citizens. Unbelievable

Re: The Gun Thread
Economig,
I too have had first hand exposure to thugs that killed people, in ways you cannot imagine.... men, women, children. I have seen some of the worst that bad people do to the innocent. The ONLY way to stop this happening, is with well trained, ARMED response. As it turned out, I had to combat not only the thugs I was used to hunt down, but also the cowardly thugs I was meant to be assisting.
Its the atypical politician's attention seeking, un-informed knee-jerk reponse to punish the law abiding gun owners because of one person's actions. They all know that it was their lack of action and failure to address this problem fron the start that created the seed for what happened recently, despite their rediculous claims there wasn't anything anyone could have done to stop this (except a couple of armed and trained security guards that should have been stationed at EVERY school after the first school shooting years ago). It wouldnt do to investigate the cause, and use informed measures to prevent it happening again by placing PROPERLY trained armed security in every school (not fat overweight lazy ex cops looking for a pension). Ask me how I know this. I live in Australia, where this is a common way to fix problems no-one wants to address. Soon, boys, soon you will just like us........ no semi auto anything, only pump, bolt or lever rifles, shotguns and .22's to play with and draconian licencing and registration so we can be heavily punished for the slightest infraction.
The first step in the birth of a dictatorship, is dis-arm the public.

Re: The Gun Thread
The great men who established our country understood this and I think this quote efficiently sums it up:
"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself.
They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone
under independence. The church, the plow, the prairie
wagon and citizens firearms are indelibly related."
- George Washington
