Priced out some glass today for the lightning. I want to do 4.5" I believe on front and rear of the Lightning. I used glassworks for my last two trucks. Any reason i should use anyone else?

How is the bottom of the cantilever section insulated?ESHALLBETTER wrote:Starting to look like a house again...
I may have to end up with something like that on the new house build, but I'm worried about insulating the bottom side and keeping the critters out.

I was dragging my spirit animal by the tongue the past few miles... by far, really, REALLY far, the hardest thing I've ever done. I hated and loved every minute of it.Bondobob wrote:Steve G and I did a GORUCK Challenge Friday night... Wow what an experience of Spec Ops team building for 12 hours and almost 20 miles Think we both were in touch with our Spirit Animals.......
I don't know what happened to my earlier post of this photo... there is only one way to earn this little patch. THE HARD WAY!!

Re: Random updates... what are you working on?
I am on house duty to for my mom.
New wood floor tile just put in. Also I opened up the wall between the living room and the kitchen. I framed in a pass through between the living room and the kitchen.
New Shaker white cabinets halfway done.
One of the interesting ideas I had is to put a automatic fill dog water bowl on the end of the cabinets with a water line plumbed to the bowl from the cold water valve under the sink. Mom has 2 Dalmatians and they drink tons of water.

Working on a tether kill switch for my ZX10... street legal drag races at California Speedway this Saturday. I'm not a drag racer but a trip out there sounds like fun. Anyone got a vehicle to bring out? I'm trying to get Mike to bring his 350whp (with 5.34's or whatever) Bronco out to whip on some imports. hahaha

Reminds me of this Andy...
Been a long time but the street legal drags in a "not normal" vehicle is awesome. Oh and smoking a buddy in his BMW is even better!!!
Unfortunately no pics of that as he was the one taking pics when we didn't race each other.
The ranger actually did ok til I ran out of gear (33's and 4.56's). I got SMOKED by a c6 corvette, killed my buddies E36 3 series, took an SVO fox Body mustang in the 1/8th but he got me back at the 1/4 and then I think I beat the guy in the pic above. This was well over 10 years ago now. 1 and only time I went, but it was a good time.

Re: Random updates... what are you working on?
I used a DIY spray foam insulation (about 600 bucks from a local insulation supplier.) and did all my HVAC runs in the old garage/new living room, and the cantilevered addition on the back. I also used it to do the perimeter of the back addition, and where it meets the original house. This sealed every really well! The rest is R30 fiberglass. I covered the whole thing with 1/2" ply and used a construction adhesive to seal those. I would recommend spray foaming the entire thing if you have the budget. This was the best of both worlds for me!BDKW1 wrote:How is the bottom of the cantilever section insulated?ESHALLBETTER wrote:Starting to look like a house again...

Re: Random updates... what are you working on?
I have a 1997 Z28 with the full performance package and 6 speed transmission. It had a aftermarket rear spoiler, that I hate because it is right in the way of the rear mirror. It has upgraded heads, exhaust and intake. The computer was remapped for all the upgrades. They also disabled the governor and I have had the car up to 150mph on cruise control going up Hwy 17 on the way to Flagstaff. All the work was done by a dealership in Phoenix because the car was used as a pace car at the Phoenix International Speedway in 1996 for a Nascar race. My Mom was looking for a 6 speed convertible and this was the only one they had locally at the time. So the dealer repainted it and away she went.Silverslk wrote:Working on a tether kill switch for my ZX10... street legal drag races at California Speedway this Saturday. Nice Bob and Steve! I bet that was awesome.
Today I got my truck in mostly driveable condition...I incorrectly torqued a front wheel bearing and it ate the back of my hub last weekend....so got it all cleaned up, torqued correctly, new Warn Premium, na d found something horrific...drive shaft bolts were loose...3 close to falling out
Now need to get a big exhaust leak fixed...pipe cracked completely at the in-side of the muffler

Damn. That hub is chewed up. What ground it up?robertcrav wrote:Today I got my truck in mostly driveable condition...I incorrectly torqued a front wheel bearing and it ate the back of my hub last weekend....so got it all cleaned up, torqued correctly, new Warn Premium, na d found something horrific...drive shaft bolts were loose...3 close to falling out

I don't know if awesome is the word. Hands down, it was the best worst time I've ever had. Pardon the la language, but it was in-fucking-sane. Had someone told me at the beginning of the night the amount of physical work we were going to complete in 12 hours, I would have laughed and simply said, "No." It's absolutely true that the mind gives up long before the body and I'm jonesing for another GRC... Good livin'!robertcrav wrote:Nice Bob and Steve! I bet that was awesome.

Re: Random updates... what are you working on?
Sunday is heavy ruck day.
We went on a 3 mile hike to Lopez Lake today. A 62lb ruck + a couple coupons that were begging to go down the trail and back = pain in the ass but rewarding.
At the lake before we headed back. No beer this time. I normally take a couple to have at the half way point. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I decided not to. He next best thing to setting your weight down for a few minutes is having a drink before hitting the trail again... Next time.
Hasta luego coupons!
