Baja Buck, Aaron (Cummins Dodge), and I are planning a get off the couch run on January 11-12. Nothing serious, trying to keep it loose and flexible to accommodate anyone that would like to join us.

Basic outline:

Sat Jan 11 Meet at Plaster City on the East side of the plant under the covered parking at 8:03 AM (goofy Yuma time)

Run up to Superstition on the whooped-out roads and washes. Play at Superstition for some time. Fix Aaron's Dodge.

Then head to Ocotillio Wells via some sweet, wide, flat, WOT washes. Our goal is to be at Ocotillio Wells by noon for some lunch time goodness and to meet up with anyone that doesn't want to start at Plaster City. Fix Aaron's Dodge.

From there head towards Glamis/Gordons Wells area for some sand time. Fix Aaron's Dodge.

Ending the day at the Quechan Casino for some buffet food, drink, hang out, and sleep.

Sun Jan 12 is a free for all. Those of us that are still running can plan a beat run anywhere; those that need to get back to the house can split.

As stated before we want to accommodate anyone that wants to head out with us. If you need special arrangements let me know. We can completely change these plans they are just a stab in the dark to get people interested.

It doesn't matter what you drive 2x4 or 4x4 (even Explorers are welcome) come on out and have a good time. If anything you will learn how to work on a Dodge. Please let me know what interests are out there.

I'm interested, my truck should be ready by then. I'd probably let the pack go and spend some time in Ocotillo Wells, & then shoot back to Plaster City.

Sounds like fun Rob. How can we pass up working on the Dodge. Lol. Do I dare risk breaking before Pismo?

Consider this your shake down run to find issues before Pismo! Besides you have 432,000 seconds between this run and Pismo; that seems like you could fix just about anything in that amount of time?

I am interested in going out. I will check the schedule and make sure I don't have stuff scheduled.

I have a Superduty Chase truck we use in Baja, so I can pull the Dodge:D:D:!:

My Bronco will not be ready but the F350 is good to go!

Rooms are about $110.00 and availability looks good right now. If enough people want to go I will ask about a group rate but I will be making my reservation soon.

If anybody is coming from the North/Inland Empire and can't make Plaster City at 0803 hrs we can set up an alternate meeting time and location at Ocotillo Wells, probably The Blue Inn. Plan on fuel in Mecca or Niland where we will stop at Salvation Mountain (what a trip that place is!) and cruise through Slab City. From there we will catch the north end of the dunes and take the Sand Highway all the way to Gordon's Well. Last year Guard and I ran this route. Navigating the north dunes is tough because you have to work around the closed wilderness areas but we got it done. Should be a fun run!

Sounds fun. It may come down to choosing between this and Huckfeast. We will see what the Mrs Cs_drums says!

I like the idea of the F350, Ford has to represent for this run. I hope you can make it. As Buck stated we are open to change to accomodate, let us know what you need and we can make it happen.

I just made my reservation at the Q. Darin is co-driving with me and my buddy Dave is going in his F150 with H&M go fast parts.

Don't forget you need a flag in the dunes.

I'm planning on cruising out on my KTM and running the Superstition / OW part of the trip, already have plans for Sunday so no casino for me.

I think this trip is more feesable than the Pismo trip. Hoping I can make it.

Cool Brain- This should be a simple day and half kind of trip. Real easy for the SD and Yuma guys. Hope to see you there.

The 11th and 12th are coming fast; I am very excited to get out and run the Mazda.

Who is mostly sure that they are coming on this trip? What part of the trip can you run?

I am just trying to work out some details; we are keeping it real flexible so everyone can attend and do what they want.

Free gas will be given to anyone that shows up with a sharply dress, trained, live, circus monkey.

Buck - I will take you up on that offer. I should not need it but it's nice to have just in case. I'll bring a small 1 gallon RotoPak, easy to strap in.....thx!

No worries, I can haul the rotopak or you can just have a gallon out my jerry cans. Whatever works for you. Plus I'm bringing my monkey so Rob is going to pony up for my gas.!.
