HuckFEAST 2014, January 17-19

Post by SteveG »

HuckFEAST is just around the corner. January 16-19 on the Oceano Dunes.

The Pacific Ocean, sand whoops, Bronco hucking, GFB potluck feast and, most importantly, RC CAR MADNESS!

Is it too early to start planning the potluck? I'll say this, I used a different store for some of my burrito supplies and wasn't thrilled with the results. That will not happen again.

Regardless, big crowd or small, GFB HuckFEAST NEVER disappoints!

Lets see, list is-
reinstall tranny
Mount balance new tires
if money permits...
finally regear front and put DS back in
Buy, install lights

This seems doable if I can afford the gas. Count me in!

I have never been there before spring break and even then the river made access for RV's difficult. I love Pismo, I want to make it to the Huckfest this summer, is a date set for that one yet?

The huckfest pales in comparison to the huckFEAST!

Huckfest = a bunch of young bros and everybody else under the sun in 1 spot for the weekend & jumping trucks.

HuckFEAST = a bunch of "old" farts jumping broncos & sipping tequila and then gorging themselves on a wonderful potluck in the true camaraderie that is GFB style. Typically sans any real crowd!

Never been to huckfest & never been really bummed I've missed it.

For sure bummed huckFEAST is a very long shot for me this year so I probably can't go!

The HuckFEAST name was absolutely a spoof on Huckfest, so it's easy to confuse. A few years into our annual trip, Bondobob jokingly called our gathering HuckFEAST in honor of the Bronco hucking and amazing potluck that takes place on the Saturday of the GFB meet. And, it stuck!

I used to try to get people pumped for this and get a big crowd but these days, I'm over that kind of thing. Especially after last year. It was no doubt our smallest gathering ever but arguably, one of the best. Several of us were in rare form and it was a blast! I havea stupid smirk on my face just thinking about it!

The potluck on Saturday is the finest in off-road eats. Know this, HuckFEAST attendees will without a doubt be well well fed and drank!

You all know I'm in. I live all year for this trip. With or without the Bronco I'm there.

As to the creek crossing it has been a non issue for several years knock on wood.
