Re: Baja Expeditions 2012
All,
First and foremost... thanks to the entire GoFastBroncos Nation, the site, the members, our sponsors and all the site guests! We had an absolutely terrific time. I hope the sentiment is the same across all of those that attended. Many thanks to Chris and Tony for all the work done in arranging this year's Excursion. Well done guys!
Next, a big thanks to Danny from El Oasis. He made the trip to HPR and spent the evening with us all on Saturday night. We completely filled the back of his 3/4 ton truck with goodies for the kids... and we also raised $1,300 for the Orphanage, which is more than twice over what we were able to raise last year. Thanks to the group, we made a big difference in the lives of those less fortunate. This was a HUGE success!
An now for some random pictures.

Re: Baja Expeditions 2012
mas... the "Tech Session"
The Tech session was a big hit... I think everyone enjoyed it and learned quite a bit... I can only hope we have the opportunity for the graduate level version in the future.
Many, many thanks to Bill and Maddy for all of their time spend it developing the content and the learning/teaching aids. They had to lug all of the visual aids down across the border. Bill put a great deal of time and effort into building the hand out books and he also paid for all out of his own pocket... (don't worry, we will figure out how to compensate him... plans in the making!)

Horse Power Ranch was as terrific as ever. They out did themselves with all the meals and of course, all the folks that served and took care of us were wonderful!

And of course, we had a great time in the dirt, but also and maybe more importantly, socially...

Echoing Tom's thoughts here guys, the comradery amongst the GFB Group is simply fantastic.... great times were had!! A big thanks to GFB founders, the members, the sponsors for a fun filled weekend.
The donations for the Oasis were truly great, and having Danny coming up to hang with us was great. The tech session by Bill was great (in particular his thoughts about King Pre Runner series.......lol). Here are some of my random shots!!

Re: Baja Expeditions 2012
Wow!! Sometimes you don't realize how much fun you've had until you get home. I wanna go back! Chris, Tony and Tom really put on another great event. My family had an absolute blast. HUGE THANKS for organizing the surprise birthday cake for Natalie. She said that was her best birthday ever when we got home.
Some random thoughts...
Jose was stoked (and scared) to get behind the wheel for the first time. Natalie is a natural. Carmen scared the chorizo out of me hitting some off camber turns sideways and backing the Bronco into the turn like a motorcycle. Holy cow! Thought for sure we were going to test the cage at some point. Haha! She's getting it though and has no fear of the skinny peddle.
Had a blast following Jesse through the whoops. He's due for some bigger shocks for sure. We all said WHOAAA! quite a few times when his back end would leave the ground and start swapping sides. Tiffini can drive that little Ranger!! Was fun following her as well. Really really really had a good time chasing Tom's dust. Such a fun pace. Finally gave me a chance to let it rip in some tighter sections...speaking of which, Carmen started smacking my shoulder at 80 on the Compadre trail so that was as fast as I dared go for the weekend. Haha! It was awesome seeing John's "new" truck in the dirt...and Rob's? Wow! I could listen to that engine all day long. The atmosphere of the whole event was great. Everyone is always available to help when someone is down. That's something you just don't get everywhere. Great group of people.
My big disappointment for the weekend was missing Bill's tech seminar. Shock tuning is a big point of interest for me, but unfortunately I couldn't keep my eyes open. I know I missed a lot and I hope he wasn't too offended when I was nodding off in the middle of it all. I WASN'T BORED! Honest! Haha!
Anyway. Thank you everyone for another great time!
