Just got back and had a great time. It was a zoo. Unfortunately the 4454 did not have a good day. We ended up having to pull the plug after we found a broken retaining clip on the right side CV axle. We replaced it and thought we were good but as the car took off it looked like the chitty chitty bang bang car front tires were wobbling all over the place. After much wrenching it appeared that the steering rack had some internal damage that was allowing the tires to Death wobble....After much discussion we decided that the prudent move was to stop. I doubt the steering would have lasted another 20 miles and even if it did the car was too dangerous for the desert sections. The team was very disappointed to say the least.

Had a blast Friday and Saturday. Put another 180+ dirt miles on the bronco. Had 99 problems and a bitch was not one of them. I'll upload pictures and do a mini write up in my thread a little later.

Had a killer week at koh, best vacation I've had in a long time. Racing or qualifying all but two days from Sunday to Friday's KOH race! Great meeting and hanging with you Jeremy. Sorry about the DNF, but only 53 of 160 starters finished. Did you figure out your hub issue, heck of a way to meet....haha!

Bronco ran great all week and crawled a couple canyons with no issues, but both early bronco buds I was with broke. One stub axle and electrical gremlins.

Took my 1000 miles to Glory baja book out for autographs and got RG's just before his qualifying run. Qualified well with a good move up a tough rock wall, but he only made 14 mile before grenading his used motor in the race!!!

Race morning was out at Racemile 19 hauling around a Hammerking Productions cameraman.
Great spot to get some good high speed shots, when I saw the only Bronco entered coming at us.
Excited to see how well he was doing because had gotten to know the Salt Lake City team earlier in the week. They had suffered an engine fire earlier in the week and worked like banshees to get it running again in time to qualify.
So they're coming at us and holy s#$t, they are ON FIRE again. Waving my arms, yelling and running at them luckily got their attention and they pulled off the course to see what in the heck this guy is yelling at them about!!!haha! Run up to them and foot long flames are coming out from under the tranny. I'm yelling for an extinguisher and it took a moment for them to realize what was going on. Before they could get out, I crawlwd under the rig and realized it was a thick plastic skid plate that was melted thru and on fire when the exhaust dropped down a few inches and laid on it. Went out by itself once the engine was off, but scary. We ripped off the skid plate, wired up the exhaust and sent them on their way, only to break their steering later in the day and dnf.

Awesome week and won't be missing the next ones!!!
