New news... The Landshark is not dead! The fire didn't get to the fuel cell. A tool bag on the floor caught fire. It's now just been heat treated and will be back.

But apparently the fire did start a brush fire so the race was held up a little but it's going again.

From what I've heard on GFB members.

Philo welded up oil pan twice on Autofab parts truck. Still running.
Chris Wilson still running very strong in his GFB.
Wardy still moving forward in the Ragland buggy.

Team AUTOFAB. Looks like they made some good time today with more oil containment. Rick was looking pretty happy at the finish so they must have been getting it towards the end. Don and Rick in at LaPaz.

If you're talking about the Landshark they did not get it going again. Needs a full re$to.

Ouch. That wheel looks like the back to the future cars wheels when it hovers away.

Got a text from Chris late last night. Finished 4th in the non Bronco class. He upgraded his class to avoid any criticism since he dictates which class each entry goes in. Best news is I think it did not break.
I am waiting for a full report. Nothing new today.

Land shark muffler blew out and set the side panel and tool kit on fire. Looks to me like that muffler is in a risky position since it is next to a composite panel.

I got back from Loreto late last night. We had a great trip with a couple minor issues. there was a lot of nasty silt on the course this year which is tough for many of the vintage vehicles. There was a good number of motor issues for teams do to this. We ended up in a silt bed on day 2 that was at least a mile long and 15 feet from the end it stop us dead in our tracks. Well we were able to get out after about 20 minutes of digging with help from our traction Jacks traction boards. But in the process we damaged the transfer case (chain broke). It's an NP 208 which is very Hard to find in baja. So we ended up finding a 1356 with manual shifter and all down there for and putting that in and cutting down the rear drive shaft to get it home on. I had a chase crew with trailer and all down there but I opted to drive home so they could stay and fish with out the bronco headache. So yesterday morning around 7 am we hit the road north from Loreto 45 miles in the bronco threw a belt from a sticky idler pulley from silt. We replaced that and hauled butt north through cocos and San Felipe which I passed Jims bronco on a flatbed heading south right around Petes camp. We crossed the boarder and I was in North County and in bed at 1am. We made great time. The bronco ran great and all in all it was a great maiden voyege to baja.

Glen drove the Wilson/ Straightiff bronco the first 2 days and I believe Sykes took over in Loreto due to breaking the fodge motor. We gave Glen some soft brake pads due to the CNC pads cutting the rotors on their race bronco. Glad to hear they finished.

Once again Norra was a blast and glad we were apart of it again we will be back next year. If you have not had the chance to be a part of it I highly recommend it. I have raced every race organization west of new Mexico and hands down the Norra group puts on the best race and parties. Lol. My race partner attended for the first time this year needless to say he is shopping for a bronco now for next year.

Ya, that is my friend Josh in the Dalton Class 8. He did not get much seat time in the truck before the race. He rebuilt one of the old Duralast Class 8 trucks. He had a last minute motor issue and just got it running days before the race. Josh and co driver are ok. Sad about the truck.

And we finished the race, earning a 3rd place in class. Issues on days 1 and 2 that made for long days but days 3 and 4 were awesome.
