Good to know - thanks Tony.

I am "in" at this point - just not going to make reservations for HP until I can confirm with Karen and also that I have a ride.

Anybody have 1 or 2 open seats if Andy doesn't go?

Chris P - are you taking the secret, riding with T in Princess or what? You have an open seat or 2 possibly? I know you like it as cold as the arctic in your truck and Karen likes that so maybe we can try and ride with you if Andy/Lily don't go? And yes, I know that probably means leaving earlier in the day on Friday.

I guess worse case scenario I could take the Toyota...

I have Gabe with me, but still have the back seat open Steve. I am sure we can find a spot to fit you in. Vic also has not confirmed who is riding with him either.

Cool deal - thanks. I didn't think it would be much of an issue to find a seat for me, but I figured if Karen goes finding 2 seats would be more than twice as hard as finding one...

Thanks Vic. I'm sure we will work it out. I'll show her Tony's comments on the course and see if that can get a confirmation from her. We can then work on seating arrangements after that.

tcm glx wrote:So a few quick comments ot address Steve's questions.

1) The compadre trail I hear is fast and fun, the B500 course I imagine will be either pretty beat up and slow, or pretty smooth and fast (depending on the sections).
2) The intent of the run isnt to go out and go as balls out hard as you can, as it appears we all have to drive our rigs home. So I would expect a comfortable pace. Also, we will be stopping periodically for breaks, pics, and chit chat I am sure
3) For the departure, I am thinking maybe we will have two groups, one that catches up ion the afternoon at the HP ranch, and then the one that can leave earlier in the day.

Steve and Andy, would be great if you guys could commit to the run.... looking like a ton of fun!!
Yup, Tony's right. The trail is a very nice drive, scenic too. It's fairly smooth and can be fast. The B500 course from Ojos to Tres Hermonos is pretty smooth and fast and then into Los Al there are some technical/slow sections... again, very nice ride though. I'd guess there will be a group that wants to go fast and there will be those that will take it a little slower... Especially with groups this size, I see us stopping socialize and enjoy Baja a frequent event... that's what we're down there for...

I sure hope Karen will come along with you Steve...

So far, Steve, I'm on my own, unless someone puts their hand up. If I can get Kris's back seat to SteveG's or pick it up myself when I get there, you are both welcome to ride with me. :D :D

Steve, I am 80% at this point. I am trying to push Lily for a yes or no if she is going then pushing for the "you go and have fun babe" comment to follow if she says she doesn't want to go. hahaha

Worse case.....take my Bronco!! I promise you will have a seat (or whole truck).

The last few miles out El Alamo is a blast!! Unfortunately just past Tres Hermanos is where I lost my hood the last time. I'll bring an extra roll of bailing wire this time. Haha! Can't wait!!

So is anyone staying saturday night also? Id like to stay the whole weekend but dont know my way around. Driving in from phoenix seems like kind of a waste to just stay for 1 night.

Hey Ryan, Nick talked about staying sat night, shoot him a pm. I want to get back saturday night so we can avoid the sunday border crossing which now tends to be about 2 hrs, and also still spend some time with the family We will likely be crossing back late afternoon/evening on Saturday, so another option is to stay in SD saturday evening

Hi Y'all,
I'm Craig, Nick's friend from NC. Just joined yesterday. This is going to be a great way to end my summer vacation. Don't own a Bronco or 4WD. As planned for now with Nick, I expect to arrive in Fullerton from Fresno by Amtrak Thursday afternoon. Will make my reservations at HPR this afternoon. I look forward to meeting everyone.

Hey Ryan,
If I was staying I would consider a loop to Mike's Sky Ranch for the second night. Not too hard to find with a decent map. Just a thought.

I have not recieved a reply or call back form HP Ranch. Anybody recieved a reply? Will follow up with them today.
