From San Diego, John is in and Jules and I are loading up the SuperDuty with the BajaF250 in tow. I'm going to throw John's quad in the back and get everyone up there on Friday. I'll also ask Tiff if she wants to tag along. But, for right now, we have 3 confirmed and 1 more maybe. I believe Jules will make her famous Mac salad to bring up for the Sat night feast. We have confirmed reservations for Fri and Sat night.

Well we need any shade/cover? I can bring my easy up (10x10) and I'll grab John's (10x20, nice and big).

I might even have a stump for the fire if needed... just gotta figure out if I have room!

Rick, keep your radio on Poly 1 on Friday and I'll contact you when we pull in so we can connect. I guess I can use my cell too, d'uh!

Any good thoughts on a trailer hitch mount for a flag? Can I get requisite flag and mount up there? I currently don't have anything setup... I guess I'll work on it this weekend!

I just tape a flag to my radio antenna on the roof. Never had a problem with that setup.

Alright guys, starting to lead towards being there... here is what I was planning on:

Leave early Saturday morning... go hang out all day, and then most likely get a room in Santa Maria.... sleep Sunday, thendrive home sunday. Who else is heading out Saturday? Is anyone bringing a motorhome or something like that? My 2 yr old daughter usually takes a nap mid day, but I dont want to drive back to the hotel for that.... thoughts?

(Yes, still afraid of commitment, but working on it!)

We can make a nice nest in the back seat of the SuperDuty, she'll be nice and safe and will have plenty of room... just an option if you can't find a motorhome.

There will be plenty of space for her to nap. My trailer will be there as well. Assuming Rick and Amber won't be rockin' that thing mid afternoon, she can crash there.


I should warn everyone that there's a good chance the wind will pick up in the mid to late afternoon, so you'll need a plan to shield little ones. Obviously, they'll get first dibs in campers and such.

I hate to be all wishy washy and constantly changing, but with this Suzy thing going on for me I am sideways and may be interested in hitching a ride to "get outta dodge" for a bit.
I'm still up in the air on if I will be able to go as may be taking a cross country drive with buddies to get me to clear my head a bit, but that is very tentative as of now and if that doesn't happen I wouldn't mind heading to Pismo. Not going to be motivated to drive myself though, so anyone possibly have an open seat?

Sounds good! An Easy-Up wouldn't be a bad idea but if you don't have the room, don't worry about it. Make sure you bring good stakes or something heavy to hold it down in case the wind picks up.

I wouldn't sweat the flag mount too much. You could always zip-tie it to the front bumper. I zip-tie mine to my spare tire carrier... works great.

Perfect. I've got a small camp fire grill that would work great over a little mesquite. I think we could still use one more grill though. Its shaping up like a small army and I'm diggin' it.
