Just picked up my family cage from ProtoFab. Waiting on bolts to arrive in the mail. I am going to weld in a crossbar for rear seat harness and a few tabs for general tie down points.

If you plan on using the back seat on a regular basis, I'd install the crossbar with either of these from Camburg, or perhaps even make it a complete main brace for the roll hoop, so it is removable for rear seat access: Just my $0.02.

Install is turning out to be a real bitch. The bolt holes in the plates fall in difficult locations. One falls on the access cover for body mount. Another falls on sheet metal seam. Need longer bolts for other hole that are boxed in and need to go through 2 layers of sheet metal. Need to grind/cut and fab to get this thing to be solid. I like those removable cross member fittings. Prob use those for front seat harness. I am going to fab a crossbar with rod ends for the back seat crossbar. Remove by pulling pins. I paid little over $600 but picked it up myself. They are off I-17 at Cordes Junction exit. Its well built and welds are top notch but not a simple bolt in installation. More pics to follow

Going to weld the nut to bar stock and drop it in the hole. Bolt will pull it up against the underside of the sheet metal. Open to suggestions for other ideas.

Those holes way out at the end of the plates aren't really going to do very much until the other four have pulled out or deformed the floor about a half inch, so I would drill some different holes in that plate if you can find places that have better meat underneath. On one of my old Toyotas that I put a bolt in cage in I got a longer body bolt and spacers to go through that plate. Not sure that would help you there but if you end up adding to it maybe. Probably want to shim/ make spacers under the plate where the bolts go so you can torque the bolts tight and keep it from creaking.

I would either drill new holes in the plates or weld a larger plate under those plates to relocate the bolt holes to better locations. I would also try to make plates that bolt underneath to sandwich the body sheet metal. You could even go as far as to run a tube from those under plates to the frame. On second though you might not want to do that with rubber body bushings.

This what I ended up with. Its not ideal but its in and tight. Using 1.5 to 2.5 inch washers when I could on the underside. I do like the longer body mount bolts and a short steel spacer to go under the plate. In their defense they dont market this as a race cage. Should provide plenty of protection for light wheeling and Im not pounding miles of whoops at top speed. Next is to get back seat in and harness bar welded in.
