Re: 94 Raptor killer
So it been a while, do to embarrassment….
So you learn something new every day. I happened to learn something the expensive way. You have to disconnect the drive shaft when you flat tow a E4OD. Looking back I feel like I should have known this but nope. It took cooking a perfectly good tranny and having a broken bronco to stare at for a whole weekend out in the desert to learn it. Just in time to be broke in the Xmas season haha.
Tranny = IOU (thanks Willie)
Fluid = $160
Flush cooler = $100
New filter, Pan & Gasket = $125
Having your first break on your truck from stupidity not actually driving it……. Priceless
I did the long over do rear main seal, leaking freeze plug, and leaky trans pan in the process. New tranny is almost in and then I just need to get the cooler flushed and it will be good to go. I also got the generals mounted up and got adjustable alignment cams so I can get the front a little better dialed in.

That's awful man. I had no idea either so don't beat yourself up over it. Appreciate the heads up though. ( note to self: no flat tow) good luck with the repairs.

Wow! That's too bad Brian. Sometimes the best way to really engrain things is too f up. N o problem. You're a smart guy. I learned from your f up. Don't flat tow with u joints. Haha! Your experience will help many of us remember. Discovery is often not about us.

Re: 94 Raptor killer
Electric T-case cant be put in Neutral. That would have saved it.
The flat tow was actually really awesome everything worked great except that I didn't disconnect the DS. The trans fluid pump is spun by the engine so if it in not on the tranny is not getting fluid and apparently neutral still spins quite a bit of stuff.
Its funny it seem it goes either way when I talk to people. They say "I would have never known" or "How did you not know that!"
Now I can be one of the latter when somebody else does it haha.

Re: 94 Raptor killer
So I noticed the 96 trans had a slightly different connector and luckily the connector and cut harness were with the new trans. Pin out was the same so I was gonna re-pin the new connector with my harness. That is until I looked at my current connector(1st pic) so I ended up splicing old harness with new. Came out looking OEM(2nd pic)
so I'm happy and may have saved myself headaches out in the dirt. I think the only thing keeping them from shorting was the 20 years or dirt and grime. - funinthesun95

Re: 94 Raptor killer
The ADD make you start 10 another project before finishing the last and the OCD makes the projects more complicated than they need... inturn making it easier to jump to the next ADD attack haha it is a visious cycle. All in all the OCD is a double edge sword that is nice cause it make your end produst nicer.

Re: 94 Raptor killer
Got my GPS mounted! Woohoo thanks Willie!
I also swapped out my 0* alignment cams for 0-2.5* adjustable ones. I have them adjusted all the way out and still -3* at ride hight! I wanted it low buty beams were not built for the current ride hieght. Im frustrated. Is it ok to run the ball joints that tapped out? I guess I'm destine to ruin tires!
