Bray's 96 Sleeper
Looks like you had fun.
Re: Bray's 96 Sleeper
As I mentioned earlier- this was a solo run, so there's always an extra element of caution.
In spite of this, and the fact I've had back luck on Superstition in the past (tranny puking fluid one time, buried in sand another),
made it to the top, no worries.
Halfway down the mountain, I decided to circle back and charge a couple of dunes.
And promptly buried it in the sugar.
I was running outta throttle and bailed out and tried to head downhill before I lost momentum.
Too late and I buried driver's and pass side tires to the hubs with the truck sideways on the mountain.
Parallel on the dune with drivers side dug deep on the lowside.
We were losing light, so we didnt waste time with any pics.
As I wondered why I have been cheaping out on a lightweight insurance policy like this
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AV2 ... PDKIKX0DER
We got to work diggging out both driverside tires and creating a path.
Hopped in and locked both ARBs and dropped into Low Range and just eased the throttle.
And buried it again. Quickly.
Tire pressure was at my standard 15 psi front 12 psi rear.
After digging out again, dropped psi to 6lbs all around and pulled the floormats out of the truck.
Dug in under each of the drivers side tires and made ramps with the mats.
Like the good girl she is; walked right out. thumbs up husky liners.
Obligatory beers and the "i knew we'd make it, i wasn't worried " conversation between co dawg and idiot driver were had....

Bray's 96 Sleeper
Sounds like a killer trip!! Wish I could have gone. After I got home I told the wifey that you were headed out and she teased with the "go ahead if you want too"
Re: Bray's 96 Sleeper
Back onto flat ground

Good times indeed Rider!
B, woulda been great to have you along, especially right around the time I was buried and could have used a tow haha!

Since it was getting dark, it was the perfect time to test out the new lights.
Supplied (RCraven) and wired by (BirdCo85) our own GFB guys Robert and Darren.
I set up a pair of Robert's eurobeam cubes on the outboard of the lightbar.
Bolted em on so they can be rotated away from the truck- super useful and can't imagine not having them on any rig.
Seeing 'around' corners is pretty damned handy
Makes picking a new line or picking up points of reference much easier when you've got almost 270 degrees of visibility- Stoked!
We headed into the Fish Creek area and up into Sandstone Canyon. It's State Park, so street legal vehicles only- pretty cool area
