Well at the wheels we are at 200hp with 3rd gear pulls. So roughly 360-380 at the crank. Makes great power up to 4000rpm then flattens out. It feels great but I want more power. Also needs more gear.

This should get me through Norra while I have another motor built. But then it will be forsale. Possibly with headers and all. Depending whether I go Ford or shift to LS.

Well.... at least you know now. Dynos can be heart breakers. Looking forward to the next evolution of motor choice though. Ford stroker gets my vote but the LS stuff is a very attractive option.

You should build a LS and sell me your motor and ccomputer.

well everything has a price make an offer. I'll sell complete filter to pan stand alone harness and all with fender well exit headers and all for the right price. I believe I will stick to Ford power plant. Just need to figure out big block or small and how extreme. I know of a good aluminum 427 that is complete Ford Motor sports build for a screaming price but I will have to run race gas which I don't want to. I have been told by a builder friend of mine that victory jr heads and new rotating assembly in my motor would really wake it up. So I may visit that route. But I will entertain reasonable offers on my current set up. For sure.

The motor is a great Cali Smog legal build.

I know you may not have to worry about that so going bigger I get.

Yes, Heads and Cam would add to this set up but would probably only get you 50 -75 more at the wheels depending on what you picked and if you opened up the intake some.

-our intakes are limiting ....from what I understand on the 351. A carb set up could also add power.

-I was thinking big block but our broncos have limited space to put stuff cooler air filter steering Res etc. Stoker would probably find you almost the same power and less weight depending on build.

-your OBD2 set up will run a 460 no problem as well if that what you pick....... just a heads up.

enjoy it while it running ....hah being down sucks.

The biggest problem is our intakes. I have the Edelbrock set up and apparently my gt40 stock stuff would be better for flow (good thing I still have it). At 4k rpm it quits making power. Also the pistons are crazy heavy and bulky in these motors. So I'm visiting the idea of short pistons and longer rods, cam, heads. Then paying someone to either port the crap out of everything or go carb. I will definitely use it how it is. It's no slouch how it is. Broncos are just heavy pigs. And i greatly appreciate all of your advice Willie you are very knowledgeable. And I cannot wait to see how your set up works.

I have thought about a 460 many times. Here is a cool build to give you an idea of potential....

Great power from basically adding cam, intake and carb. My issue is the weight. Aluminum heads is a must with the 460 to keep the weight reasonable.

If bet if you went to a Mustang/Lightening style aftermarket intake set up you'd get a chunk more out of your build. From what I have heard the truck manifolds are the greatest choke point.

This was my goal with the 393 set up.... with the GT40 style intake.... I hope to have it done soon.

Goonwagan also has this set up with a Carb

Also Note the edelbrock Truck intake are Tq based and can do well with a Tq built motor platform.

The Lighting intake would help with HP I think and match all the goodies on the motor....so lol

So after talking to a few people I am leaning towards the z460 or z427 for the bronco. Both are pump gas and Ford performance crate motors. Now to figure out how to make EFI stuff breath or go Carb.

Some quick updates as we get close to Norra and stuff. For starters Edelbrock jumped on board and sent some Victor Jr. aluminum heads and other goodies as well as ZSR race engines. So I decided to pull the trigger and build a 408w. A lot of different people talked me into this versus go with a ford crate motor. This allowed me to consult the right people and build for my needs and make it Mexico reliable without questioning running Pemex.

We are knocking out the newly redesigned knuckle since others had stated our previous design was a knock off of a design that came 4 years after our first set sold. I think you can tell now that there are only so many ways to skin a cat but we found another way lol. Although I am jealous of Scott's new knuckle him and Craig are designing. I am content with ours. We will be testing the prototype set at Norra to prove it out.

After realizing that the constricting issue with Ford EFI is the availability of air at the intake we have decided to make a in house 3" to dual 2.25" intake manifold for packaging reasons and to help it breathe a little better.

I finally put a real filler neck on the Bronco after filling through the wheel well a few times.

The Bronco cycles a clean 25" of wheel travel with the c6 set up and I also raked the motor and trans a little. I could probably get another 2" of usable travel but the 18" bypasses are the limiting factor.

Your not worried about a rock nailing your battery? Not trying to criticize. I have just seen rocks come through fiberglass and heavy duty rock guards covering batteries and ruin the day. It being as close as it is next to fuel fill would make me a little nervous.
