I think spirit fab built them. I bought them used. I haven't tried them out yet, I've been putting the motor back in. I'll let you know when I do!

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
So, more updates, got the engine apart, just worn out, nothing too serious. Cleaning parts, and painting things to make it look acceptable. Managed to get all the grease and grime out of the engine compartment wooow what a difference. Also, if you look at the crossmember picture, the guy who previously owned it plated the front of the crossmember and replaced all the bolts with grade 8! Works for me.

Also too, thank you Philo for the idea, I went and got the ubolts that hold on the ujoint to the rear end for the coil buckets. Seems like it'll work perfect.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
Looking good. While you have it all apart, buy a timing tape for the balancer. They're only a few dollars and it'll pay for itself.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
So, its all the small ordeals that are in my way of finishing the engine. I still have the usual (intake manifold complete torquing, throttle body gasket and such) that can be finished this weekend no problem. What do you guys think? Any ideas on what I should do before finishing it off? Any input would be appreciated.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
thank you drillim (I didn't see your post) I definately will. Well, hopefully the front end will be put back together and I'll have it running this weekend. Also, any thoughts about the heavy duty motor mounts from bronco graveyard? I got a set, I just havent tested them yet. Has anyone tried them?

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
Well the bronco runs and it moves! A couple of hickups, one the intake wont fit past the coil buckets and two I don't have a support bar between the two buckets. Would it be ok to run the truck without it for a bit? No real offroading just cruising? Also, bought a new header panel and new lights with the hid conversion kits, those came in yesterday. Pics and things this weekend.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
You'll be fine on the street without a crossover bar on the buckets. It will eventually fatigue the cross member or buckets with heavy offroading though... whichever is the weak link.hobbyturnedobsession wrote:Well the bronco runs and it moves! Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
Alright, I'll make sure to get one built, as I have never done one myself. What do you think that would run to have one built? I know its just a tube on each side at the coil buckets, a bolt going through, then the tube with two bends over the engine. I thought maybe a 100 to have it done.

Depends on who does the fab for you. Seems like going rate for a competent fab shop is $75-95/hr + materials. There are some good garage fabbers that will do work like this for less, and then depending on who your buddies, how nice they are and what skills they have it may get done for a case of beer.

I think my friend in hesperia would do it but it wont be a case of beer price, he will definately cut you a deal if your working/learning though.
