Re: NavyNukes 82 Build
Rear Suspension version 2.5 has begun. Just need a couple things
Valve specs to set these kings to, and some parts to revalve em.
Also gonna have to set up limit straps etc too
SteveG. I was told knows what valving to recommend
currently the valving is .15 compression, and .12 rebound
thanks Ken

Re: NavyNukes 82 Build
called King, they recommend starting with the .15/.12 valving that is in the shocks, based on springs/vehicle weight etc.
So just gonna slap some fluid in em and put em on.
Do you guys recommend changing the lower shock mount from stock?
Ken

That's probably a good place to start. .015 on compression and .012 on rebound.
I don't know you mean by this.navynuke wrote:Do you guys recommend changing the lower shock mount from stock?

Re: NavyNukes 82 Build
The factory lower shock mounts on the rear axle are just fine. Most all of us use them with the under shock style setup and I don't know of one that has broken.
I tend to like .15 rebound and .12 compression so it kicks/bucks in the rear a little less.

Re: NavyNukes 82 Build
Got the King's installed on the rear today

other than being a bit concerned about how sharp a bend I have in this hose, it looks pretty good

Now to charge em up and test em out. I picked up some of the misalignment shims for the front shock over the weekend in Phoenix too.

Re: NavyNukes 82 Build
Ran great with the new shocks on the back.
Pressurized them this afternoon, then beat on it for a few minutes to see how it works.
I need to extend my bump stops though, the teltale on the shock was all the way at the bottom. Guess I'll go look for some of the S10 style bumps.
The detroit works great, but soft sand uphill with no speed in 2wd just sinks. Couldn't quite get turned around, so I had to get out and lock the hubs.

nope, desert hills between paloverde north and Lake dr. I can see the other side of that hill from my office window.
crystal beach has some good spots too, but I needed a quick fix, as I am now leaving for school, didn't have much time.

New rims look good. Make the brown top seem to look better too.

Thanks guys. Worked REALLY well out at the Mint400.
The center caps from my old rims actually fit these rims too.

I will get more pics up tomorrow

Awesome, he got me creeping through there, that section was rough after the first lap, I bet it was destroyed by the end of the night.

Well I've been talking about Fuel injection, and I'm getting closer. I'd start on the project, with graduation/finding a job/moving in the next three months hopefully, I'm gonna just sit on the parts till I get into a new place.

Re: NavyNukes 82 Build
So thinking about going to Pismo for the Heavy Metal thing, but I'll need tires first. So I need some help picking tires...
debating the A/T or M/T question again, thinking A/T's may be better for me. Any input from people on this site? While the Cooper STT's have done well for me over the last 2 years(no flats, lots of miles both on/off road) they have let me down in the sand more than I like, they tend to just dig/sink until I am buried in the rear, since I usually stay in 2wd.
Thinking about BFG KM2s, A/Ts, bridgestone Duellers, or???? Open to inputs looking at 35x12.5x15 size range.
Thanks guys.

If you can find them, my vote is for Goodyear GSA.
The Yokahama is a good tire too.

BFG All Terrains is my vote. Best on and off road combo tire and not very loud at all on the road.
