I Like the way you roll CS. Excellent build. Even your cribbage blocks look nicely done.cs_drums wrote:Unfortunately I am splitting my time between the bronco and a kitchen remodel, happy wife happy life! She just left to LA and I have the day off so expect updates tonight!

Update-
Well I had a day to myself and got alot of random stuff done not to much picture worthy stuff. Finished brake lines, bled so that's off the list. I swapped out several bolts that I needed longer. And finished one of b-pillar floor plates.

Why the braided lines? And not a hard line set up down the radius arm?.

My guess is less fittings to buy & deal with.

Re: 94 Raptor killer
Like Chasetruck said, more fittings and cost more for no performance gains. I'm sure sometime will want to argue that.Andy Jones wrote:Why the braided lines? And not a hard line set up down the radius arm?.

I've only seen the hard line setup before. Never thought of doing all braided... I like it! Less fittings the better.

Re: 94 Raptor killer
My buddy worked R&D for an electric car company they plumbed the entire car in braided to save time working out the best routing. Hardlines are cheaper for long spans but by the time you by to short briaded lines and 2 extra bulk heads it cheaper to just buy a pre-made braid line and go. They sell pre-made it tons of different lengths. They just get expensive when you have to start changing fittings. The 43" lines down the radius arms were like $23 bucks a piece I believe. I had a bunch of random lines I used for the rear and just cut to length and put fittings on.

Re: 94 Raptor killer
After the adapter to take the stock master cylinder outlets AN - braded to the proportion valve- AN adapters to the 2lb residual valves- hardlines, I have like 7 fittings just from the MC to the hardlines most of those being AN-pipe back to AN. THe less fittings the better those suckers are stupid expensive.Kel Fab Creations wrote:I've only seen the hard line setup before. Never thought of doing all braided... I like it! Re: 94 Raptor killer
For performance and reliability though the least flex line possible is better. Hard line stuff is really cheap compared to AN too.

I agree running the hard lines for long sections but for the radius arm deffinately not cheaper. What performance and reliability do you gain from hard lines?MOSS2 wrote:For performance and reliability though the least flex line possible is better. Re: 94 Raptor killer
They are less likely to puncture or bulge is the argument. I kind of see it kind of done and can go either way in this argument.
The more fittings there are the more the price seems to go up (plumbing the crew now so I know this all too well) and the likelyhood for leaks also goes up in my opinion.
I started running 1/2" stainless hard line for most of the fuel run in my crew & after the fitting costs and work (bending tube & running lines if more work), etc. I'm wondering if I should've just gone with hose...
