Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
So far I have had good luck with the yellow top and no issues with the vehicle sitting for a couple of weeks at a time. It is not uncommon for the bronco to sit for a couple of weeks without any attention. I have had the battery for about 2 years now.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
I need to do the same on my passenger side fender. It sticks out in the front so the hood and the fender have a gap.. Where did you end up buying glass from?

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
I have Perry's fab and fiber fenders I got used form Convoy. It was a good deal for me as the glass is in decent shape and he had already cut up the inner fenders. I plan on getting the full set of glass from Perry to include the hood with cowl and louveres. With the 6" flare on the fronts its a pretty aggressive set. I believe he also has a 3" flare for the front too. When your ready for glass if you want anything from Perry please let me know Desert Concepts has a great relationship with him and can get you great pricing that I would venture to say will be better than anyone elses new.
I have come to the conclusion though that while I can get things pretty close nothing will equal doing the fender supports from scratch, when I do the engine cage we will do that and I will get new glass to pretty it all up haha

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
Sounds good! I'm thinking a set of 3" may be in my future sometime soon. I'll definately let you know! They look good so far, and when the cage goes in, itll look even cleaner.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
Quick question, I have a mysterious clunking noise when I push the brakes. When I let off it does the same. Would the ball joints / axle pivot bushings do this? I know I need to change them this weekend.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
I would not think ball joints at all, but check your leaf spring bolts and make sure they are tight. I had a problem with mine loosening up and would get a similiar clunk on heavy acceleration or deceleration, also check for play in the driveline and make sure your radius arm brackets are tight too. Those areas are more likely IMO.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
I know its coming from the drivers side front beam. I'll check the radius arm bolts. Thanks Jeremy.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
It could possibly be that but I would check the bolts holding the radius arm to the beam. My drivers side lower bolt backs out constantly. It makes a more of a felling in the brake pedal and floor than an actual noise. I seem to tighten it every 1000 miles or so.hobbyturnedobsession wrote:Quick question, I have a mysterious clunking noise when I push the brakes. When I let off it does the same. Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
Yeah I feel it most in the brake pedal.
****EDIT****
It also does it when I turn in reverse.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
I think its funny how everyone seems to have different problem areas on their broncos...lol I have never had any issue with the beam bolts I check them pretty regularly, I can see how that would give a feeling in the brake pedal when it moves. Hope its that simple..I am guessing it probably is since you just put everything together.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
Thanks again guys for the advice the passenger side rad arm was loose. Not too much to say just changed the ball joints which suck. (I think they were original). Also, with the new battery I must be getting some better juice because after about 100 miles, the driveline stopped vibrating when it'd shift.

Re: HTO'S BRONCO BUILD
quick question, when I nail the throttle I smell fumes sometimes. I know the purge valve isnt hooked back up to the throttle body yet. Could this be an issue? Also, I was thinking the ring and seal on the tank?

I'm going to build my front crossbar for my coil buckets. Will 1.5" .120 wall dom work ok?
