Re: 1990 Go Fast Gorilla
So I got to spend New Years Eve working on the Bronco. Blew a heater core on the way to work and had to get it swapped out. At least Ford made it easy to get to. Only took an hour. Everything else I've done a heater core in took all day!

Re: 1990 Go Fast Gorilla
So spent Sunday working on the GFG. Been having issues with it starting and my seat bracket keeps breaking. Figured out the battery had a hole in it, the terminals were both broken, and the starter solenoid on my Power Master starter needed to be rebuilt. Got another battery, installed new terminals, and rebuilt the solenoid. Then noticed a strange taped up bulge further down the ground cable. Took the tape off and found this awesome "repair" the previous owner had made! After fixing that mess I was able to cut out a new brace for the seat and welded it in. now the seat is more solid than ever!

Re: 1990 Go Fast Gorilla
Yeah for sure. It's nice to be able to just get in it and have it start! And now that the seat isn't all wobbly it is much nicer to drive! Also was having issues with the cruise control turning off and the torque converter unlocking every time I hit the left turn signal. figured out that was because my passenger side turn signal bulb wasn't seated in the socket properly. Snapped it back in and problem solved!

So the Gorilla has been down for several months now. Blew a head gasket. Now this is happening.

That ground cable fix reminds me of a 19yo version of myself attempting to solder 0 gauge battery cable together... It "kinda" worked.

my brother in law did that on his 72 k5, will have to see if I can find a picture. 52" works really well, his is a curved but I was thinking you could do the same to a bronco grill as well.Wrightracing.net wrote:I like How Chris and Glen did this. I have a 92-96 front body style.
I might do something like this one day in addition to my HID's

Re: 1990 Go Fast Gorilla
Thanks. I'm pretty excited about it! Finally get to start working on the Bronco this weekend. Hopefully I'll have it running by next weekend. I'm really sick of driving borrowed vehicles!!!S00TLYFE wrote:also motor looks good. what up from a fellow native Oregonian, although im about 800 miles south of you now
