Sounds like the computer system.... did a ground come loose? Weird shit will happen if you knock out a ground

Chk the ground by the battery that's supposed to bolt to the fender. Randy is right, wired stuff happens when a ground comes loose.

I've dealt with this issue on a friend's '93 after bottoming out at 70 mph in a 4 foot hole at Pismo. Turned out the bolt on the ecm was stripped and when the tire stuffed in it managed to pull out the ecm less than 1/8 of an inch which was enough to allow the motor to crank but it wouldn't fire. I realized that the check engine light didn't come on and checked the connector and found the bottom two wires had pulled out a bit. I hit the plug with some big heavy pliers to get it back in all the way seated against the ecm and then was able to use the same pliers to drive in the two wires that at a distance looked fine but once I clicked them in, the check engine lit up and the truck was able to fire up. At first glance everyone who saw it thought it was fine and the wires wouldn't go in by hand so it seemed like the plug was fine as well but after careful inspection it was obvious that it couldn't be anything else.

That's what it was. 2 wires had been slightly pulled out of the plug. Pushed them back down and she fired right up. Since its now back in my garage, I started stripping down the front end to start up on the new beams. Did a little damage to the passenger side.

I nose dove it from about 10 feet off the top of a dune. That's the only damage I've been able to find. My engine cage and radius arms look fine.

I saw someone once fab up a really nice skid plate that covers that... someone should fab some of these up for us!!

You destroyed a replacement beam... That sticker means it was replaced at a Ford dealer in the past.

I thought that too, but the sticker is dated December 94' and the truck is a 95.

They just made it in 94.... could have been sitting on the shelf or in a warehouse for years.

Weird. My Dad definitely never drove as hard as I have. It could have been replaced after it was stolen and used a Mexican smuggler for a week.

Mine had the same sticker on one of the beams. She was in an accidenté and it was replaced before i bought it.
