Re: 1986 351w Go Fast Beater Bronco
After reading through that thread... it seems like a poor decision to tube the front end without a cage, so for now I think the best route is to make the shock towers and x member independent of the nose structure... with maybe a couple added supports.
this may be a stupid question... but has anyone ever played with the idea of a small notch on the front end where the oem rubber bumps are? with just a cut and turn... there is not much uptravel available there... a couple buddies have gone the route of building drop brackets without a cut and turn... and aside from the shit angle of the steering after the brackets... the up travel is something I would love to have... just spitballing here...

I've seen the Howe ram on this build, whoever did it. I thought it was the handy work of southwest but I have no idea who's it is or who did the steering set up.

Re: 1986 351w Go Fast Beater Bronco
Yes exactly! thank you! I havent been able to find any info regarding anyone else that has done this... with 37's I want to reduce wear on the balljoints and the stock ford box. although the box is new... that damn set screw worries me and ive destroyed them before... pro-active thinking.
I already have a leftover servo and quickener from an old project... this is totally farfetched ...and in lieu of being unequal length... it would be awesome to run a mildly ported oem pwr steer pump plumbed to a servo and a fully hydraulic rack.... comparatively, with as much as tommy lee costs... or an investment in a nice psc or howe saginaw box.... it doesnt seem too terribly expensive to go the route mentioned above.... but the whole unequal pivot thing... the rack would have to be mounted off center with a big drop mount, pillow block and extra linkage junctions from the steering shaft etc... just day dreaming here....

However did the box and pump. Iirc the box is tapped but I could be wrong. How's has done quite a few box and pumps with ram assist for broncos and f159s.

Just look at the psc set ups, you'll save a fortune over Howe. Last I checked it was 5k for their sag pump and box, they ratio their boxes though like a quick steer so that's important too if looking to go fast. Ask alot of questions and fill me in. I looked at this stuff along time ago so no idea what's what these days.

Other than the chassis and suspension and body/glass... rest of the car is off the shelf parts from GM, Ford, Chrysler... and those honda taillights.
