Good to know RMC. Yeah steve, ill be putting the quad in the bed of the truck until I get a camper then I might get really redneck and use one of the racks that slide into the hitch. Ill put that in the bronco hitch receiver to hold the quad while the bronco is on the flat bed trailer lol shit howdy

Actually 18ft bay could be done, sideways quad behind the bronco. 18 inch front tire radius+104 wheelbase+3ft for the rear tire radius plus the rest(I'm guessing at 36 inches from rear tire center to rear bumper). 104+36+18.5=158.5, 16ft trailer(cargo bed only 16ft)=192 inches, that will only leave you 2.7ft.... You see my point,18ft will leave 4.7ft or so... 20ft cargo bay is in your best interest unless its a kids quad. If its a kids quad load it in the back of the bronco and get a 16 footer.

Went to pismo over the weekend and the bronco did amazing! It could definately use some more power lol but all in all it did well and went everywhere as long as i had a good run. Pedal to the floor on sand highway and the fastest it would do was 60, the suspension felt great and could go faster if i had more motor. Mid trip the bronco started making a ticking noise and im pretty sure its a stuck lifter, Ill be tearing the top end apart sometime this week to fix the issue. If it turns out to be something deeper than i might seriously be considering a complete motor swap. Ive always wanted to build a LS based motor and might go this route depending on cost. If i go this route I will most likely go with the chevy 6.0 LQ9 due to budget. Now the thing i need to do more research on is if i can do this swap and still smog it. Any info you guys have on this would be appreciated! I should have some in cab footage from the trip up in the next couple weeks

Sorry bud but you cant do a chevy motor in a Ford and have it smog legal. It has to be from the same auto maker and it has to come in the same series the frame offers.

Randy is right, Well, HTO Randy.

As much as I'd love to put a LQ4 or 9 in one of the 92-96 trucks & have it be smog legal the smog nazis here in Commiefornia say we can't.

You sure about that Randy? Granted I haven looked at the laws for a while, but my understanding as long as it was from the same type of vehicle, was of a newer vintage and maintained all of the smog equipment of the donor it would be legal. It would need to be inspected by a BAR rep and in the future it would be tested as the donor vehicle

Been a while since I looked as well, so you may be right. May just be the same type/class of vehicle. Since the LQ stuff comes in trucks and SUV's it may be good.
I do know I couldn't even re-do the swap I did in my ranger any more as the motor I had in it came from a thunder-turd (sports?? car) and went in a truck.

Hrmmm

I wonder why...I think of companies like American Expedition Vehicles, Burnsville Offroad, Offroad Evolution and others that do Hemi and LS swaps into Jeeps and they are all legal
