That is el mirage dry lake. Awesome place to wheel and not to far from me.
Where are you located at? I only ask because I live in Phelan and have spent some time in El Mirage over the years, fun local place to go but sucks that they charge now.

I lived in Phelan for 15 years and my parents still live up there. El mitage is cool but how much are they charging these days?

Im about an hour away from there but I always go wheeling out that way. If I remember right its 15 bucks for a day pass and 30 bucks for the week. I know you can buy a year pass but I have no clue how much it is. I remember when you could get in for free and there was no paved road to get in and now to have a fire they have a fire permit that you must get

I was actually up there two weeks ago with my girl we wheeled in the mountains behind Phelan and camped out at the dry lake here's a couple pics.

whenever I hit the drylake I love to camp next to this tree

I haven't been back since they started charging. I was driving buy on business and wanted to check out the land sailers for an hour or so. Had to pay just to get entree to public land... That building at the gate must of cost us a fortune. The BLM can suck it as far as I'm concerned. They are not in it for the public's intrest.

They have built awnings, fire rings, more outhouses, paved the road, built the building, marked trails, put up more fencing, put up a ton of solar panels. That's all I have noticed change after they started charging. Although id much rather not have to pay to get in they have made improvements to the place. I just hope with more government involvement they do not try to shut it down like they try with almost all our ohv land.

Im actually not sure what that hill is called I call it "high point" it over looks the Cajon pass. I been riding dirt bikes in Phelan since I was a kid with my dad and his buddy who lives out there. Lots of trails nobody would ever know are there.

mmmmm breakfast in the desert

I was messin with the bronco this morning and noticed a leak coming from my back tire thought it was a wheel cylinder. But when I took off the drum holly fawkk over half my brake shoe was GONE!! The parking brake cable was broken and one of the springs also. Bronco never even acted like it had something that wrong back there no squealing or anything like that

Image

I looked at them about a month ago and everything looked great although I knew I needed new shoes soon. So the bronco got a little love today new brakes all the was around, new seals and bearings in the rear, and new gear oil.

Question how much limited slip additive should I add to the fluid?

Was hauling butt through these mountain trails and almost went head on with another truck doing the same. Now that gave me the pucker factor for sure i ran my truck up into the mountain to keep from hitting him luckily no carnage and the bronco made it home in one piece.

That happened to my friend recently, he totaled an oncoming Toyota and put a very small scratch in his tube bumper. The plastic cars these days with their crumple zones are no match for good old American iron and booger welds.

Little up date. Threw some deaver CSF64 coils up front on the bronco for a little added lift and ride while in the desert and man what a step up from what I had (I know ant no coil over) but they took the hits this weekend in the desert. On the list now some beefy radius arms/ limit straps/ 35's/ and some better shocks. Anybody have any input on shocks? (Relatively new to the gofast scene still)

Image

Front has settled down quite a bit like I had hoped it would after some time in the desert. Thought it looked a little silly sitting this high in the front
