David's 94 Bronco Build

Ok so here it goes. This is my first Bronco, it is a father son project and these are the plans

Front:
Threat Motorsports billet cut and turned beams
Threat Motorsports tubular radius arms and pivot boxes
4' inch pro comp coils
King 2.5 coilover or bypasses not sure yet maybe some suggestions from you guys
will run the Bilstein 5100 in the front until I decide what to do.

Rear
Deaver F53 pack
home built rear upper shock mount
king 2.5 x 12 2 tube bypasses
General Grabbers

Just have to buy some odds and ends and I can start the build hopefully by next weekend.

Looks like a real nice start there Dave. Can't wait to see this thing progress. When do you start installing parts?

Lookin good man, when did you pick this kit up?

I have the extended uniball kit from Threat, plated with billet lowers. Mine's installed but i'm only about 75% done welding up my engine cage & shock mounts. I have the heim'd boxed arms but still love the classic look of your tubed arms. I was curious if i saw this get made recently? Dave does some nice hot steady welds on the cups and billet ears. I kinda thought my plating was triggered cause it looked too nice but i watched him make some, so we're cool ha ha

I really like your rear mount though, can't tell on my phone but i'm assuming it'll be bolt on, right? Looks great from what i can see. I was gonna make one this week but i'm on the fence about my setup now. My buddy Brian made a homemade cantilever that made me hesitate

Not sure what i want. Good luck with the build though, i'll definitely be following it

econo- I just picked it up on wed, maybe you did see it get built? Dave does some really nice welding. I like both style arms, but my son was the one that picked the tube style, they are really beefy. thanks on the mount, I still have to finish welding it up , it will be bolt on. Cantilever sound really cool but really $$$$.

D1cker1- yeah it's been really fun planning stuff out with him, and it'll be nice having some help while working under the truck. He has also been learning a lot.

Why are those tube style radius arms so popular?
I know Dave makes some other style radius arms..

Solo makes some and I'm considering reinforcing the hole
So the radius arm looks a little more solid.

Solo plated mine. Here is a pic. They did a nice job on them:

I personally like the tube style better. They look too bulky plated but my BTF's are going to replace my tube arms. I have BEAT my radius arms and they work fine......I think plating is not 100% required but what do I really know about fab. hahaha

I agree with you Andy. From my talks with Bobby at Solo, John Evans and the guys at Camburg, you don't need to plate the arms, they are plently strong as is. It's just a nice touch to the arms if that's the style you like.

It depends on how hard you really beat stuff. Tom's arms were tube & he bent them so he plated them. He drives a HEAVY truck like a beast though!

Personally I dig the new style arms Dave is doing.

The plating stops bending in a direction that was never an issue. The biggest issue is the arm rotating on the bolt it's attaches to the beam with.

That being said if the first radius arms I did had not of bent when I t boned that car in Vegas it would have sheared the radius mount or pushed the rail back. More work to fix.

At dperez: yeah, pretty sure i saw them get built. Cause me & Dave were talkin a little bit while he was making them and i didn't know he still offered the tube arms. I love my new style ones but kinda miss the era "Look" of the ones you got too sometimes (can't have it all)

That's all i was referring to though. Those things are stupid strong either way. Seen tubed arms of multiple brands survive nuclear punishment. I like the plated look too

well guys I was gonna wait till next weekend to install my front kit..... but patience is a virtue I do not possess.

I only had a few problems, one I banged on the top ball joint castle nut to much and could not screw it off , so I had to cut it off.

Then I had to massage the beam pivot mounts to fit the uniballs. Also it seems the previous owner had 3 degree camber cams(way to much positive camber)so I need to get some 0 degree ones. Where's the best place you guys recommend getting these?

other than that it went pretty smooth.

next weekend the rear will get some attention.

thanks d1cker1. do you know or is there some place on here where i could find out how to "read" the cam that i have now. I'll post some pics later tonight of it.

David,
Saw that you are in Chula Juana..... take the bronco to Tru Line for an alignment. My brother uses them and they are great!! They should have the cam you need to get you all set up.

BTW, truck is looking great!! Love the rare color!

David, dumb question but it's happen to me before... Did you clean cam really well? The D44 cams should have a small number stamped on the flat side. If there's road grime on there, it's impossible to see. Good luck!

Hahaha.... Thanks econo. When I looked at the cams all I would focus on was a "30" they have stamped on them. Completely missed the "1 degree" that they also have stamped. Picked up new 0 degree cams from napa. One down I'll do the other this weekend. Just found out today that my rear shocks will take a few weeks longer than expected because King doesn't have the tube configuration shock body I wanted in stock.
