It's still technically a company truck but I'm the only person that drives it. Fun fact: Aside from our tow rigs, it's our most-used vehicle in the fleet. We were trying to figure out how many miles it had when we got it from Rob.

Lot’s happening here… trying to get the interior back together (mostly) for San Felipe.

So I pulled the carpet upholstery off the sides of the car for the first time ever… LOTS of dust. The floor already has a tone of sound deadening material and it’s time to add it to the sides and doors. The goal is to have Raptor interior noise levels. In others words, more comfort! The other goal is less material to hold dirt and dust. Originally, that was going to be custom interior panels wrapped in vinyl… instead, I might be adding a layer of aesthetically-pleasing foam over the sound deadening… more on that later.

A couple weeks ago, I had the idea to make MOLLE panels for the interior. This will allow me to use all sorts of different bags for storage, instead of piling boxes and such inside. Here’s the design we ended up with. Oh. I also added the small rear speakers.

Haha, you found me! that was at KOH last year. We hung out with the Frontrunner team for a couple days while they filmed and took photos for marketing content.

Frontrunner used to sell a plastic can for water that fit perfectly into a NATO can holder. Nice thing about it was that with the can upright it had a spigot in a bottom corner. I was hoping that they still sold it as I want one for the Wagon(eer) project. They don't. In the process of looking I spotted that banner and Wilson is pretty distinctive.

I bought a water container that fits inside of one of the Frontrunner Wolf Packs, and has a spigot coming out of one side. It’s pretty handy for long trips. If I remember right, it holds about 7 gallons of water. I’ll post a photo of it next time I’m near it

I'm sad, too. But I just don't use it like I used to. I also have a small fleet of unsreasonable cars... at some point I need to grow up? And drive something somewhat reasonable? Maybe, dare I say, that nets over 15mpg?

P.S. Last night I was working on repacking front bearings and correcting the front axle-shaft phasing (that 4 different mechanics could't fix when they had the front end apart at different times) and kept thinking to myself... damnit I love this car!

Oh well. Kritter told me, "If you're not using it, sell it to someone that will". Good advice.

I remember when Paul was building Wilson, such a great truck and so well thought out.

I sold my Bronco for the same reason, just didn't use it enough, and I sold it to someone who would. BUT I wish I didn't and miss it all the time.

I get it. I've been waffling on selling the Bronc-up for 3-4 years. Thing is, I've a friend who wants it. He also seems to understand how hard some things are to let go. He's also about maxed out on places to park toys, so one of his may have to go just to make room. I really do need to get into caring hands. It's just rusting where it sits.
Of the vehicles that I've sold over the years the only one that I really miss is Patch, and I could build another one of those if I really wanted/needed to.
