Maybe it's just me, but the Si Bronze rod just seems to fall on there & lump a bit, plus there always seemed to be some glue or paint I couldn't get to on the factory metal that made the stuff pop & just be a crappy experience all together.
Your not alone there. There's nothing more I hate than the smell of burning factory glue, and the all to familiar pop. Maybe cho has a secret stratagy but I can't stand that stuff. However you pulled it off cho it looks great.

Thanks guys, patching sheet metal definitely is not one of my favorite things to do. The key with si bronze is to make sure the material is clean and well prepped. For sure my rod of choice for most thin sheet metal work. It welds really fast due to its low melting point which prevents warping and blowing holes in the material, it also is soft so it will flex without cracking.

My buddy was using it for a while in some garden decoration stuff to weld brass to steel.

I've never tried the Si Bronze for MIG but had heard they made it. I too would be interested to see it in action. Could make for an interesting bead.

And yes, the stuff is perfect for patching holes in the body due to it's low heat requirement & "flex". I did have a body guy warn me it doesn't take paint well though when I used it to patch a couple holes I was filling on the body of my alfa romeo.

How many builders have had their hand in this bronco so far? Just curious.

I've been building this myself for the last 6+ years, with a little help here and there from friends. I just dont have the time or space to finish it, so it went to Richer Racing with a wish-list of things to finish for me and is taking a short detour to CRB to work his magic on the sheet metal and airbox work. Then back to Richer Racing then to me to finish and finally fire up.

and yes I have a small fortune in it since we all know how much these types of parts cost lol. It's my savings account haha

Nice, Curt will do some nice work on it.

Just try not to think about how much you have in it............. It will all be worth it when you fire it up and drive it around the first time.

Some progress CRB Curt made on the rear so far. That opening will have a door with flush mount latches and a storage compartment behind it for a tow strap, etc. I'll have that on both sides. Can't wait to see how it all turns out.
