Cool, I’ll see if I can pop the bulbs out and try to figure out the size

Re: 92-96 Bronco / F-150 LED Interior/Exterior Retrofit Kits
Mind if i pick your brain Nubreed?
This is my factory dome light with a Philips LED. Note the 2 mounting screws also power it.

This is the F150 Dome/Map light combo i bought on Ebay. Note the two re-used mounting screws, but there are 3 holes.

When i open my door, nothing comes on. If i turn on either of the map lights, the center bulb comes on too. If i turn on one of the switches, then open the door, it turns anything currently on, off, until i close the door, then they come back on. If both switches are off, the lights all stay off, so i'm confident i won't burn my truck down. Is there a way to configure this so the center light comes on when i open the door, and off when i close it like the factory setup? Do i just need to reverse the wires?

according to multiple sources, the map lights are 194's.nubreed71 wrote:I can definitely do warm white...that's actually what I did on my rig as well for the same exact reasons. I've got warm white bulbs in stock if you want me to put together an interior kit. Not sure I can tell what bulbs you need for the explorer overhead console, but if you shoot me over some pics of the current bulbs along with a couple measurements, I can prolly figure out what you need.

From what I recall, the factory F-150 dome light in my old rig had three screws. Can you get a screw in that third spot? If so, I wonder if that might make it operate the way you want? I'm great at swapping bulbs, but by no means an electrical genius. If it was me, I'd try the third screw and see if that gets it working the right way. Worth a shot!

I'm gonna give that a shot. Someone on FB said that the 3rd screw is a ground, which should fix it, in theory.nubreed71 wrote:From what I recall, the factory F-150 dome light in my old rig had three screws. That's what I recall. When I swapped the headliner out on my rig, I remember the light doing weird stuff until I got all three screws in. Let me know if that fixes it!

3 screws didn’t fix it. If anyone has pictures of their light mounted with the clear lens removed, and of the two wires underneath with the light removed, that would be awesome

nubreed71,
If you want to let those of us with high security to view your images you should not use photobucket. Let me suggest "postimages" with a 640x480 setting. Free without complications.
What I get upon clicking your images is "link does not exit"
Photobucket sucks. And dont expect us to log into Photobucket for viewing.
An common issue for viewing photobucket on all forums even those "not secure" or Https.
Regards. PW

I'm not using Photobucket. I'm using Flickr.

All reposted pics/info are on page 5. I cleared out my Photobucket account and reposted as soon as they tried to pull their $500/year shenanigans.

Just an FYI they soon realized they weren't gaining any customers that way & set everything back. There's now a watermark on the photos saying they're on photobucket, but all the threads they killed by pulling that crap seem to have been restored.

Haha yeah I heard about that. Woulda been nice to know before I spent hours and hours re-creating my '94 build thread using Flickr, but I was running on pure spite lol.

I didn't have the heart to take the time to re-do a few of my 80-100 page threads on the crew build and other stuff. I was full of spite for sure too. Just a big waste of time & headache for them to learn you can't rape people. Oh well!

92-96 Bronco / F-150 LED Interior/Exterior Retrofit Kits
Bump for a question! Have you heard of/ run into any issues with transmission shifting when swapping to the led taillights? I forgot about this thread and was searching around and have slowly started picking up LEDs here and there. But I stumbled across a couple people saying that they've had issues with the low resistance and power bleeding back into the system. It seems to be directly related to the third brake light but I also haven't found any definitive answers as to why.
