Re: Nothing special class3 pics
OK, I have been stalled out for a bit while waiting for parts and getting the house ready for winter...
But I did get over the the sop last weekend. We rebuilt the steering box and ported it for ram assist when the time comes. I also got all the parts fully welded and installed in the truck. It's nice to be able to steer it around the shop (your build is taking too long when you get excited that your junk is easier to push around...) I am waiting on some more driveline parts, then I should be able to make some more progress. Until then I keep picking off the little items.

My wife had been asking me to get our place ready for winter, too. I was dreading it but finally set some time aside to walk into the garage and turn off the sprinkler system. I got to swing by the shop for about an hour last night and was able to get the power steering reservoir and the PCV breather mounted. It even has a dimple die, which is good for another 1/2 mph on the race average.

Re: Nothing special class3 pics
Got to the shop for a little bit today to work on the truck. I am working on getting the driveline together. I ordered gears from Dave's Offroad Supply and they should be here Monday. (I'm going to Florida to visit family for the holidays so they will have to sit for a week or so...)
I got the 9 inch put together and am running 4:56 gears. I now just need to get my drive flanges (Camburg has them out for coating) I will be running 35 spline axles. The front hubs were drilled out for the 5/8 studs. I also made a little progress on my steering. It is a stock for pump, but we removed the reservior and tapped it to work with the PSC reservior. My 3G alternator should also get here next week, so I hope to start mounting accesories to the motor when I get back.

Re: Nothing special class3 pics
To be honest I don't remember, they were some left overs I had from some Pro-2s. Maybe ARP or Tubeworks? I would guess their about 4"long. The rear studs appear to be a one off to go with the Taylor hubs. (very similar to a Chrisman)They are course thread into the front of the hub, then drilled and tapped on the back for a smaller screw from back side of the hub to "lock" them in place. The wheel lugs are all fine thread.philofab wrote:That studs look like 4", are those the super high dollar ARP Nascar ones?

Re: Nothing special class3 pics
Thanks for the compliments! Not huge news, but got to the shop last night. I got it all stripped down to continue the plumbing and wiring. I got the exhaust from the headers back welded up and got my muffler hangers designed. Got my trans and engine oil coolers mocked up and got those mounts layed out as well. I am at the point now where I have a bunch of little tedious things that need to be done and progress is not really visually exciting.... I basically got a bunch of little brackets measured up and now I need to spend some quality time behind the computer screen and get some more parts hammered out! Hope to have a little more progress by the end of the weekend!
