OK! Yesterday was the big dyno day for me. My goal for this motor was 400hp and 400ft/lbs torque. My initial break in and runs were all done on 102 octane. After playing a bit with jetting, I could not get past the 391hp mark, but I did just kiss 400 on torque. I added a 1" "super sucker" carb spacer, and started seeing hp numbers in the low 400's! Once I was dialed in we started running 91 pump premium in the motor. My compression ratio is 10.64:1. The motor made more hp and torque on the pump gas than the race fuel! This was a huge success for me as I wanted to be able to run pump gas! I ended the day at about 410hp and 408 ft/lbs of torque. The torque curve is real nice and it makes good power without revving real high so it should be really reliable!
lower octane fuel actually has more potential power, it just detonates easily. Race gas allows you to run more timing = more power. If you can keep the detonation away, and run more timing, the pump gas will make more power.
You know, I honestly do not remember. Looking at the video, the EGT turns from blue to green at 1000° so I would guess somewhere around 1400-1500° I am not really familiar with where "too hot" would be so I may be way off, but the guy running the dyno shop was not concerned. If you are interested in an exact number I could probably all him.

Quiet Brad! I had a couple of loose bolts on the front of the oil pan and got a little oil blowing off. We torqed the pan again and it solved the problem.
I was just about to PM you! ha.
No biggie, its not like we're in a hurry or anything
If you got that one at the swap meet, i'll take that one. If you wanna pm me with the total that'd be great. Remember, I'll gladly rock U-Weld stickers for cheaper parts!
