I might be a little out of build order given I'm playing catch up, but here's more!

threw in some more wiring!
then fabbed up the twin stick operation
I can jam it in and out of 4H on the fly. 4L is on the co-dog side. If we need 4 low he's probably getting out anyway.....

Put the seats and "interior" back in the truck to complete the (opposite of a) luxury prerunner feel
Fabbed up a quick spare tire mount just so I'd have one out at KOH. I want to build a dual swing out rack later but this fit the need and the timeline.
At this point it was starting to look promising... I wasn't sleeping, and hadn't seen my family for days....

Broke the steering rod with the bend in it. Murphy's Law also dictated that when the broken parts went tumbling under the truck it would center punch the oil filter and wipe that out. lol

Your bronco looks killer. I'd say 90% of the time, the first trip ends with a broken something. Can I ask what may have caused the break of the tie rod?

Glad to see it's out on the trails under its own power though!

Re: Nothing special class3 pics
I executed the first steering rod poorly, and was pushing the truck pretty hard. About 60-65 MPH through some pretty good bumps. I used 1.5 x.120 wall then sleeved and capped it with 1.75 x .120 with an internal gusset. The internal gusset was not shaped right, and too short, and the tie rod split at the bend where the gusset ended and the "cap" was welded.hobbyturnedobsession wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 6:17 amYour bronco looks killer. The new tie rod is one piece of 1.5 x .250 wall 4130 and I've had no problems.
I have in car video from right before it happened, but I'm not sure how to post it.

Re: Nothing special class3 pics
Thank you for the info, I built my swing steering, and ran .120 1.5 tubing and was contemplating reinforcing. I will do that.ESHALLBETTER wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 12:46 pmI executed the first steering rod poorly, and was pushing the truck pretty hard. About 60-65 MPH through some pretty good bumps. Re: Nothing special class3 pics
Took the Bronco out over the weekend and ran the Geiser loop. Really wet and sloppy and a single blown fuse was the only issue all day! I posted some videos on my Instagram. Micheal_Honcho
