Thinking of picking up this little sidekick for a daily driver. Anyone have any experience with them? Pros cons? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

My buddy while I was in the Navy had one. It was fun as hell to drive and got GREAT gas mileage.

I got my dad a Samurai last father's day and he's loving it. The Sidekick has the 1.6L fuel injected engine that all the Sammy guys want so you know you have a good little motor to blast around with. The fuel economy is really awesome too and they have plenty of interior room. As far as parts, the Geo Tracker shares a lot of parts with it, in fact, I think it might just be a Sidekick rebadged as a Tracker. The cool thing is these things will, go anywhere, sip fuel and go through pretty much any trail.. even mountain bike trails

Only experience I have is shooting this video. I thought he was going to seriously die. Not bad for unhooking it from the motorhome and tackling "Heart Attack Hill"....

I know it looks kind of girly but I though that it might be able to be turned into a cool little runner. Already come with a 3 link in the back stock and A arms in the front that can easily be modified. It's so small. Like a mini mini bronco. About the size of a sidexside. Some pics of the previous owner with it. (My sisters friend). She was also the one who named it chug. And yes she was jealous of my bronco

Updates on this thing! New paint! No more Barbies dream jeep. Now it's G.I Barbies dream jeep. Picked up some 31" tires to put on it and picking up some 2" lift springs next week.

Where is the "Urban Camo"? (You do know Bronco wheels bolt straight on, dont you?)

I'm trying to get everything together to make it to pismo. Gonna tow this behind my bronco! I was thinking of doing a digital camo patter on the rear quarter panel. Maybe that new reptilian pattern. The bronco wheels have the same bolt pattern but the center hole is too small for the sidekick hubs. I wanted to put alcoas on it but I would have to machine out the centers a bit.

Why do you need to machine the wheel centres out? This is a popular swap over here, fitting F series wheels to Suzy's. No machining required (alloy or steel rims)

Idk about the Samurai but this sidekicks center bore for the hub is 108mm I tried to fit the stock Alcoa on it off my bronco and it didn't fit. Nor the stock steel spare. Although the aftermarket ones I have fit fine.

As for the wheels. If you have a decent router they can enlarge the center bores on the aluminum wheels...

Doing a strut mount flip and adding some 3/8" exhaust flanges for spacers for a little lift in the front. Plus Dana 35 TTB explorer springs for the front and rear springs off of a first gen grand Cherokee gives it a ~2" lift.



A little touch if paint to ward off rust.

Samurai is the same. My 15-inch Alcoas didn't fit but the 16-inch Alcoas that have the center bored out fit perfectly.

Painted the rear shell today. Hoping to pick up some black rims soooooon. I have some 31" pro comp xtreme terrains to go on.
