Question, J40 or F53's? I know one is 2.5" wide and one is 3". More looking for which would better suit the truck? Ride quality between the 2. Also height difference. I read a few different ride height claims.

I'd think that if you wanted to keep the utility aspect of the truck, go with the j40's. If you want more "performance" in the dirt go with the f53's.

And before any of you bash me, yes I know that the 40's work, but I think it's proven that 53's work better. At least in the dirt.

Also, the f150s come with provisions for. 2.5" spring don't they? Will a 3" wide fit without any mods??

yup - 2wd F-150's of this era had the 2.5" wide springs and the 4wd trucks and broncos had the 3" wide springs.

Not sure on how much the shortened it. It has the giant 64s. This is the one JD is building.

Looks about like he went from extracab, short bed wheelbase (139") to std. cab, short bed wheel base (133")

Standard cab short bed is 118" wheelbase if I remember correctly. I would guess your correct with the 133" in the new length

Brian is correct, std cab short bed is just under 119"-ish, I stretched my last single cab short bed to 124"

type-o. I meant std. LONG bed. Those are 133". Looks like the bedside is pushed up about 6".

Tricky balance, you want to get close to the "magic" 125 wb but they start to look stupid if you shorten the bed too much.

I guess I should check this thread more often. haha.

I have seen a few pictures of that truck, looks like it will be nice.

I ended picking up the J40's.

Also got my beams done last week. Just need to get them on the truck and set ride height.
