It needs fenders, tail lights, a bulkhead, and a bumper. There is only enough paint to keep it from rusting until it warms up enough to paint it proper, but hey its progress.

Working on a simple rear bumper. I spot welded it and will hit it with the flap wheel before I weld it all up. After the frame brackets go in I will box the rear and capture the brackets in the boxing. The ends need to be cut flush and welded up too.

I am jealous about those tomatoes. That radish is from last year. I just throw in random pics, what the hell. Nothing goes in the ground here until May 1, although I push it up into early April if I can and also have containers. I am just starting my tomatoes from seed now.

The picture of the day is a 100% Detroit hoop-d cruiser. It had loud ass exhaust and everything. I could not believe they were out cruising the 'burbs in this thing. I had to take a picture. I told them the cops would have a field day with them out here, and they looked at me like I was crazy. It takes me back to the days when I lived in the 'hood. It so needs rims...

I saw a Ducati reference in another thread, I will post mine here to avoid side tracking the other thread too much. These bikes need a lot of attention. Single sided swingarm bearings, rockers eating cams, clutch slave cylinders that leak and take three men and a small boy to hold at a light, grabby clutches, they overheat in traffic, they like to eat rotors too. The valves really need to be adjusted frequently with the desmondronic system. They were saying 6000 miles, but they really should be serviced at 4000. I took it on a 400 mile trip, once. It was trucked everywhere after that. Valve belts need changing frequently too. I sold the thing. It is worse than a British bike. They do go okay and look sexy to boot. I think they look great at bike night. Chicks dig them. I prefer a gixxer. You can throw them around. They are light and powerful. If you drop a gixxer it won't cost you a fortune to fix it, if anything at all on a lowside. For as small and light as the Ducati was it felt heavy.

This is what I am riding this summer. It is small and light and no valves to adjust for sure. Pistons have to be changed every ten thousand though. The handling, not so good.

Thanks man. The first truck I ever drove was a 64 F100 when I was a kid. We used it to haul hay and feed for the horses. They are cool trucks for sure.

Updates:
Brackets for the bumper welded on and everything getting boxed up.






All the welds on one side pulled the bumper and I used Mr. Twenty to coax it straight. I need to figure out a better method for the future.

Bumper finally on th truck. This thing took forever.


After much searching for any used rusty old flaresides for cheap I actually scored... glass! It is stock spec USA body. They are pretty good quality. In case anyone else is looking Speedway motors sells three inch over glass fenders for $400 a pair. These sell for $700 a pair, but I picked them up used unmounted.


I mounted them a couple of inches higher than stock for clearance.

It is actually looking like a truck again. I started on the license plate bracket and tail light brackets. Hopefully, I can get them done this weekend. I want to go up North this week and enjoy some of the 70 degree weather. It would be nice to take it instead of the van. It needs tie rods installed too. There is always so much work to do.

Thanks everyone! I am off to the cabin for the week, so no Bronco bench racing until I get back unless I find internets up there. The truck still needs work and will stay home. The offroad miles will have to be in my Asics; I have a trail ultramarathon coming up and would really like to run a 100 miler this year.
