Got the little cubby finished on both sides- got the race radio mounted up and ready for the final wiring. These little cubby areas behind the rear interior panels are for stereo amps, and electrical parts that need very little if any maintenance or any reason reason to be seen.

On a more fun note I got the carpet fitted and in! The mass backing is a nice heavy product that should help that much more with noise and vibration... Hopefully lol!

Finally got my door panels done. Replaced the factory leather parts with matching material from my seats and carpet. Personally unless you've got pristine parts I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle but the outcome is pretty nice.

Hey Matt, what roddid you use for the cast. Did you pre and post heat it?
I have a old BBQ I have used for cast welding in the past. I am torn between machining my own knuckles or just modifying an OEM set. We will see.

Good progress...

Those are just a MIG turned up fairly high- the ball joints were already installed and a pre/post heat wasn't in the cards. I had a Dana 30 knuckle from a 68 bronco that was bad -- long story short I welded a tab similar to what you see there and I took a BFH to it and it didn't fail. A pre-post heat is best practice but being a huge portion of the stress goes to the knuckle I'm not worried in the least.

Thanks! The black kind of gives it a newer look. Truth be told I would cover the panels versus use the dye that I used. I have no doubt Ill have to fix this in the future. As far as the seats go they are seemingly very comfortable and while not equipped with huge bolters that center hump really feels like it holds you in. That pic of the side seat arm is a factory piece off a bench seat that got sawsalled off at a JY and welded on the side to give it that slide forward feature that the factory sliders can produce-- it turned out fairly factory looking but the plastic dipped part got a tad hot on the drivers side-- a cold wet cloth was suggested on the other side lol :-)

The link worked-- my take on the panels is this do it with a paint but don't expect no issues and if you buy a PPG product like I did- read a tech sheet because the counter guy who doesn't know shit might not tell you the other 3 steps to really make the product work. I think personally you use regulnar can stuff because the 5 steps just seem crazy and are designed to fail.
