I was thinking of it more like I could rely on Tom to carry a spare so on trips where I'm with him I wouldn't carry one and could just steal his - haha

[quote="ChaseTruck754"]you guys got it all wrong! I ALWAYS work in the rule of 4s now. Everything takes 4 times longer than I plan and costs 4x as much.

you sir are correct in the factor of four as corroborated by the greatest fabricator of them all...

Montgomery Scott: Eight weeks, Sir, [Kirk opens his mouth] but ya don't have eight weeks, so I'll do it for ya in two.
James T. Kirk: Mr.Scott. Have you always multiplied your repair estimates by a factor of four?
Montgomery Scott: Certainly, Sir. How else can I keep my reputation as a miracle worker?
James T. Kirk: [over the intercom] Your reputation is secure, Scotty"

I know, I'm still so optimistic, I use the rule of two's and it's ALWAYS wrong! You'd think I'd learn!

ChaseTruck754 wrote:Speaking of cost - what did you get that fuel filter setup for Tom? I may take the easy way out and instead of doing my own research I may just copy you - haha.
Got it at Summit... great place to get parts! I love those guys. The quickest shipping, bar none. They ship out of Sparks Nv and their parts are always delivered in a day (standard shipping!). Plus, they have the absolutely best customer service. I once purchased an Autometer vacuum gage (many, many years ago) along with some other parts, and when the package arrived, and I opened the box, the gage box was in with all the other parts. When I opened the gage box, no gage. So, I called them and explained the situation and was ready to go high order on them, the gal at the other end of the line said, "you're right, the package didn't weigh as much as it should, a new gage will be shipped to you immediately!" Wow, no questions, no balking, just quick and responsive positive action! I've been a fan ever since. I have many other stories, all positive...

Here ya go B...

Post Mex 1000 chase clean up and inspection... I've collected quit a bit of dirt and dust!

The only problem I had the entire week we were down there was my tranny temp. Running through that silt, sand and the dry lake bed sucks the power and really heats up the tranny. I think I spent too much time in conversion going through some of the "stuff!" And, since I've just added the skid plate under the engine oil and tranny oil pan, I have much less airflow across the pan to help cooling. So, I'll need to upgrade my tranny cooler. I know what I have to do, I just need to do it! So, some replumbing and a little wiring, a little fab to mount the cooler, and I should be good to go. Of course, it'll turn into a mega project that'll take me weeks to complete! Gotta get it done before the 500! I hope!

Hey Jimmy... thanks... it works for me exceptionally well. I know many folks prefer a different setup in the rear, especially when it comes to the spares but this works really well for my applications.
