5.0’s been back together for a bit, runnin strong for an engine with 240k miles. Still chasing problems with the tensioner pulley(#3) wobbling and squeaking.. but can anyone tell me why my camber changes with the steering? Beam pivots loose? Alignment cams are tight and have never budged since I replaced em.

Figured it out.. somehow I missed the slightly loose beam pivot brackets on BOTH sides. How TF did that happen..?? Glad I caught it before it let loose at speed

I think I may have FINALLY figured out what keeps killing belt tensioners on this truck.. the alternator is not spaced out far enough, before I rip this thing out though has anyone else dealt with this in their 5.0? I’m hoping I just need a small 1/8” spacer and the bracket itself isn’t screwed up. What’s my best course of action? Grind down a universal spacer? Washers? Have one machined?

Re: 1993 TTB F150 XLT
Stockpiling more parts to get this thing back on the road/dirt! (im)patiently waiting on some tubular radius arms from Threat, scored some 35” KO2’s from Kris, got a set of beam drop brackets from Bronco Graveyard, and have started cleaning up a random set of 4” coils and drop pitman arm that I’ve been hoarding for a couple years.
So with that being said, I’ll be pulling the Desolate Stage 1 Bilstein 5100s and 2” coils off and putting them on the market if anyone’s interested.

Re: 1993 TTB F150 XLT
Whew it’s been a minute. So this thing sat in pieces for awhile as my adhd messed around and I spent my time and money on other projects. Finally got serious around the beginning of this year and got the front suspension overhauled but kept things simple with tubular heimed radius arms from Threat, new beam pivot bushings, JBG 4” beam drop brackets that I had plated and gusseted by Garrett at Corrosive Design, 4” lift springs from Solo, one Bilstein 5100 per side, drop pitman arm, and Moog F250 ambulance steering linkage (thanks CWriz for the part numbers). Put the truck back on a set of Alcoas I picked up cheap in Orange County( I still have the 15x10 Methods, just waiting till I have time to refinish them and mount them on a new set of tires).
Got another t-case swapped in to replace my damaged one. Had the original 5.0 pulled and rebuilt to stock specs with Pacesetter headers (thanks Philo) UPR air pump bypass, and some other little stuff to clean up with engine bay. She runs and drives better than ever now, but still needs a lot (never ends). Going to convert the AC over to R134, address some other odds and ends and just drive and enjoy it and try not to keep it down too long.
Oh and I got back into Bronco ownership kinda and bought my wife a ‘23 2-door Bronco. Wasted no time getting that leveled on 35s haha

Nice! Do anything extra to the motor while you were in there?

Negative, she’s still slow but reliable haha. I had considered adding a mild cam and some other bolt ons but decided against it as this truck is speed density, not maf. And i wanted to keep things simple and cheaper.hobbyturnedobsession wrote:Nice! Do anything extra to the motor while you were in there?

Haha I think I need a 91-94 Explorer to slap these on with smaller tires once I put my Methods back on

Re: 1993 TTB F150 XLT
Alright peeps with older F-series trucks and Broncos that didn’t come with 3rd brake lights from the factory.
Has anyone added an aftermarket LED 3rd brake light to a rig that did NOT come with one originally and had trans issues? I’d like to keep my e4od alive, but I also want to add a 3rd brake light because people in SoCal can’t drive. Thinking about tapping into the brake light switch pigtail

Re: 1993 TTB F150 XLT
I haven't added one to an older truck, but the LED third brake light hasn't affected the transmission in my 96.
