Thanks, it's really getting close. I'm in the zone right now, things are getting done and it's coming together quickly.

I found a pretty darn nice original grille at the LB swap meet. Mine is kinda hammered. This one is almost too nice for a prerunner, but I'll drive it in the street, too.

That grill shell looks good. I've got 3 or 4 tucked up in the rafters just in case as they are pretty thin & dent super easy. If I find one for a reasonable price I just grab it...

On a side note I gotta get back up to vets stadium one of these days. Been years since I've hit the swap meet there.

I grew up going to Vets stadium swap meets, it was tiny back then. It's still a good place to pick up consumable type shop supplies. I bought most of my paint supplies out there, as well. You have to get there early if you want to park in the same zip code, I get there right at 6:00 and I'm home by 8:00.

I used to go pretty regularly about 10 years ago. We'd go almost every month & then sell once a year. I've found a bunch of my tools there & some random hot rod stuff too. Parking wasn't great back then, but definitely not what it has become in recent years.

I bought all that the guy had, and then he went out of business. I honestly can't remember what his name was. It's a moot point now, anyhow.

Kibbetech makes some from time to time. He's out of stock right now, I just checked on Monday. I think he gets about $12 a piece, $10 each if you order more than 12 or so. His are cad plated gold, but look to be about the same as mine, size wise. I only have 20 or 21, I need 6 more for the spare tires, plus I would like some extras as well. Nobody makes them consistently, or in large batches it seems. I've had my eye open for them for quite some time.

I finally mounted my A/C unit. It was fairly simple, and I think it will last, at least until the nutserts rip out of the plastic.

I have some work to do on the dash before painting it. I have to do a little sheet metal surgery to place the vents where I want them. It does look like I'll have some usable glove box space.

Hi F-Bomb, nice build I like the details you put in to it. A couple of questions if have time:
1. Your rear leaf spring mounts\shackles you build them or source them?
2. Front spindle\knuckles Ford 1 ton? Weld them with ER70 Sx wire?

The shackles and hangers were built by GMR. They were production parts at one time, based off of these parts. He sold a few sets a long time ago. He's not in the business of building parts anymore and I don't think he kept all the jigs. Doubtful that more will be made.

Yes, it is all 1 ton Camper Special parts up front. I couldn't tell you what wire was used, that's above my pay grade...even though I paid for it.

Steve_ Yes, Vintage Air Compac II. It fits in these truck really well, but it's still a good size unit. It's almost overkill, really. The smaller unit would do fine on a std. cab pickup, but this fits in there so nicely, it was worth the upgrade. This also has defrost as well.

I'm still hammering away at this thing. I am starting to get the interior figured out. I will still need to paint the dash, once everything is mounted, but it's getting close. I had the center console I built upholstered, money well spent. I'm very happy with the way that turned out.
I also got my shocks back. So it's sitting on its own weight on all four corners now. That's exciting, it's been quite awhile.

Thanks for the encouragement, I need it. I'm getting worn out. I had to take some time to get some things done on my van that I drive daily. It had a bunch of things wrong that I'd put off fixing because I was working on the truck...
I had planned on getting the motor in this weekend, but between the van and my back, that ain't happening. The van is ready though, some fresh brake and steering parts, plus a new set of BFG's. I even got some fresh lug nuts. The chrome only lasts as long as a set of tires, apparently.
The plan is to go to the 500, hopefully towing something, but I'm going either way. Now the van is ready. I'm really liking these new KO2's so far. With these tires and some new parts, it's driving better than ever.

I'm going to get back after the truck, motor and trans should be in soon.

On the upholstery guy, he is a semi-retired guy that works out of a one car garage in Long Beach . He doesn't have room to park anything. A friend of mine keeps him busy, but he brings him seats to recover, never whole cars. I think any decent upholstery shop could do wonders for 90% of all the prerunners out there.

Quick follow up on the K02's: I love them. I have some miles on them now and I am really liking them.

I made a trip to the pyp in Wilmington. I had to get a section of dash so I could delete the ash tray and cigarette lighter on mine. I ended up coming home with a new dash pad also. It's not perfect, but a lot nicer than mine and I plan on recovering anyhow. This one has a few cracks, but it's shape is good. Mine has the sags.

This once proud supercab had to give something up. It would have been a nice truck, I almost felt bad taking the saws all to it. Somebody had been nice enough to take out most of the nuts on the dash pad. I think they tried to get it, but gave up. Only the tricky hidden one were left.
